:D :D right so i know your the big hitter and here, well I have something to challenge you with. In the sweep tonight on our 5th hole. I hit my 19 degree hybrid 376 yards accroding to the man I played with and his GPS!

**Cough** It was downwind and slightly downhill with dry fairways **Cough** :D

....but hey, good knock no? respect?

What was your clubhead speed?

normally around 122MPH, or it was in march wen i got fitted. I cnt claim miracles, i.e. like i said down wind and slight downhill but i hit it along way

how fast you swing it?

normally around 122MPH

Blimey. Is that with a driver or the hybrid?

That was my average driver speed after hitting about 30 balls on his system.

My speed has really helped me develope a set of stock shots I can play, including the snap hook, raking hook and massive push. It really is that pretty :D

On a serious note, I've still been unable to find definitive information regarding the accuracy of my Swing Speed Radar. One person on another forum says he's compared directly against Trackman and says that SSR is 3-4% higher. So Trackman reading 102mph SSR around 105mph.

There may be reasons to explain this. For instance, the positioning of the SSR (just outside the tee) may mean that it reads the toe of the club which is probably travelling faster than the centre/heel. But I don't know exactly how Trackman measures either. So they may not even be comparing like with like.

Having said all that, for me it's all relative. When I first got the SSR my swing speed was reading around 95mph with the driver. I physically couldn't get it any higher than that without wrenching my arms off my shoulders. After a couple of months of training with it I now peak at 125 and average <120. Probably a mixture of physical conditioning and technique, but either way it gave me something to focus on. Now, even "easy" swings are above 110mph.

how have you made these improvements and over wat period of time?

Just by standing on the range mat and trying f*cking hard to swing it fast! What I learned technique-wise was: keep right knee still so as to build up torque against it, keep the wrists as flexible as possible. To hit the ball over my fence I also position the ball on the out-turned left toe (so right at the forward edge of the stance), but this is probably wrong for ultimate distance as it creates a high-stalling flight. Probably a little lower with more roll would give a greater distance.

What was your clubhead speed?

This may be a naive question but how is someone supposed to know their club head speed when hitting a shot on a golf course?

Okay, when in a shop or on the range you can use the radar machines etc. But on the course?
