Anyone in the Berkshire vicinity might like to know that American Golf at Birds Hill (near Maidenhead) have a demo day on Monday (4-8) featuring Callaway, Taylormade, Ping, Yonex and Wilson.

I'm going with a iew to trying to the Burner driver in different lofts and shafts, but I'm sure there will be loads of other shiny toys to play with as well. I think they are doing reasonable discounts as well if you buy on the night.

How do I get a new bag and 14 new clubs into the house unnoticed?

Go for it big fella!

I think the new Burner Tour TP head is sensational, let me know if they do a TP 3 wood the same shape.

There is a new range of Burner fairway woods due out so I'm presuming they will come with a tour TP head. If I remember and haven't had my meat and two veg attacked by a forged callaway 5 iron by HID I'll keep an eye out for you

I tried a friends Burner (not the TP). Nice club but seemed very lightweight.

Could be that I just tried to smack it as hard as I could however!

Went well though!!

Sorry to pour cold water on your burning desires chaps but it doesn't matter how shiney it is or what its called, it is always down to the monkey swinging it and if you can't then you can't.
Is it really necessary to run off to the shops every time something with a bigger price tag comes along.

Well Buzzkillington,

I don't buy all the shiney, new, expensive gear. But I like reading about them or trying them out.
......and, unless it's a putter, I'm really quite good at hitting them!

Have to say I was being at least a little tongue in cheek. I am looking seriously at the driver but apart from that it is a great excuse to try all the latest gear in one place in as many different specs as possible.

go for it homer and have fun. I tried the tour burner yesterday as a 3 wood (not the tp model) and it certainly goes very well and is forgiving but not as much as the old burner in my opinion, and I would presume it's the same with the drivers. The 2008 version is certainly a little longer though in the fairway department. I love these sort of major manufacturer demo days, you get to try and ogle over all the new gear and you get free range balls for the night. It's great.

got to love the demo days ag doing a nike one shortly as i do fancy a sasquatch driver again but try new shafts in them, the tour burner looks sexy to my mate got one with that graffloy epic shaft in his swing is quite poor but god does it go

My wife thinks I have had the same computer for 6 years because the case hasn't changed.

Beautiful!

I splashed out on some kit this weekend.....used "readies" stashed in a pot by the bed.
If she asks the price of my Monza Corza putter she'll have to break into the golf club changing room and find my secret box of receipts. Didn't complain at the shoes I bought her or a set of clubs for the nipper.
