Walking to our 12th and am standing on 23 points, am proper flowing. Our 12 th is a downhill par 3 about 180 into the wind I took my first step and its slippy. I started to say to other 3 PPS
" watch yourself it's sli" and bang am up in the air and down on me ass, thing is I had hold of my motocaddy which was on speed six and it's dragging me down the hill. I managed to hit the stop button after I had gone about ten foot. I was muddied up to the eyeballs everything I was in was drenched in wet mud.
needless to say PP were in bits. I did well to get another team points after that. A PP had that much sympathy for me it's now on face book.

when i slipped on the course it put paid to my golf and pretty much everything else ,including my job .
im still off work now and have just been signed off for another two months .Tashy you dont know how lucky you were mate ,it could have been far worse than a bit of mud on your backside.
i did laugh at you misfortune though.

Classic. Would love to have seen that. If you are at H4H can you re-enact it for the forum masses?

Am not at H4H Homer but it's summat I am gonna look at next year and no chance of re enactment either. Me backs in rag order as it is.

It'd be funnier if, as I suspect, many of the rest of us hadn't done it too :D

When I did my 'slip' down a steep bank it wouldn't have made any difference if I had crampons fitted, I'd still have gone over

Earth-Brown suits you though, very Lee Westwoodesque

I used to be well known on the forum for slipping over. Oddly, I now wear spikeless all year, and have had no issues.

Glad you are OK.

You have a fine head of hair too, or a good toupee. Congrats.

Sorry that happened Tashyboy and am glad you are ok! What do you mean by dimples? Kind of amazed there wasn't a safe path to walk down?

Craig the shoes I have are flat soled FJ awl with " dimples" on them. They are proper comfy. Gutted as I had only just cleaned them having spilt half a pint of gravy on thm which campus of my pasty at the British masters.
As you walk from out 11th to 12th you are actually on a gravel path. The tee is 15 to 20 yards to the right. You can follow the path round aka sensibl safe route, or take the short cut/ slide.

I think that photo has Been digitally altered coz I am sure am not that grey.

A similar(ish) thing happened to me at the beginning of this year. On our 18th there is a significant slope from the fairway leading to the green. There is a nice path to the side of the fairway but I choose the quick route, straight down the slope. Pretty wet underfoot but thought it would be fine. Well, it wasn't. One foot slipped then followed the other. I also carry so the weight of my bag dropped me like a sack of you know what! Wouldn't have been so bad if there wasn't 30 or so members of a society stood on the first tee/18th green area :o At least I gave them a nice chuckle! I had an even bigger round of applause when I sank my 12 foot putt for birdie!

I am still suffering from my last slip about four years ago. I have physio on the front of my left thigh every two weeks as it's still problematic. The fall itself was comical and you probably couldn't recreate it if you tried. Walking down off an icey tee my right foot slipped and went forward, my left leg buckled and that foot went backwards but as I had my bag on my back that helped to push my body weight forward. Everything was going forward except for my left leg from the knee down so something had to give and the burning pain that shot up the front of my left thigh wasn't the most pleasurable of sensations I have ever felt. Still trying to get rid of the scar tissue but doubt it will ever go.

Of course it's always funny when you see it happen but having read on here and seen it first hand at my club, it can cause some nasty injuries. I have some dimple FJ's for summer play but wouldn't wear them in damp or muddy conditions. I hope the OP's back improves soon and be careful out there!

Still cant beat a PP walking back to line a put up and disappearing into a bunker though :D

Did that earlier this year when a pp dropped his bag on the floor about 10ft behind my ball I walked backwards off the green to read a long put and don I went again. Two other PP said " we could see that was gonna happen." 😳

I played with a bloke once who nearly did that with a buggy. He was reversing and for reasons unknown did not see the humungous bunker he was about to drive into. Me and my pp suddenly started shouting and waving frantically when we realised what was about to happen and just got him to stop inches from the edge. Very close call, he was totally oblivious to the danger.
