Top 5 for me would be:
14 at Braid Hills (Edinburgh)
4 at Braid Hills (Edinburgh)
6 at Murrayfield (Edinburgh)
15 at Hollandbush (Lanarkshire) (Theres a course no one has played)
4 at Dunbar (East Lothian) (especially with a severe crosswind)

... Someone who has played two rounds of golf in England may not be the best thread starter here!

There arw two tee shots, that spring to mind, where I've stood there thinking "Where the **** am I going to go here?";

The 8th @ Formby and 18th @ Royal Lytham.

When I first played both they had me trousered mentally before I hit the shot, the outcome wasn't great !

4th at Traditions from the whites comes to mind, off the yellows its just about acceptable as you can hit a 4 or 5 iron

There will be a couple at Wimbledon Common/London Scottish but I can't think of the numbers now

18th at Forrest Of Arden , 200 odd yards par 3 over some sort of a quarry..

There's another par 3 around the 5th/6th bout 160 odd yards all over water

5th at lough eren is same ' carry the whole way or reload ..

16th in Bunclody GC off back sticks massive carry down a chute of trees big hit just to make fairway

Only one out of many stands out for me and that's the 14th hole at Winterfield GC Dunbar. From the medal tee, about 200 yards, you're hitting across the beach to a green that slopes right to left towards the sea. The beach line also cuts immediately round the rear of the green making it even more daunting. Bail out to the right and your hitting back across the slope towards the sea. Many a top player and the odd writer recon its one of the best.

Our old 9th when we were inside the race course was a bum clencher. A long par 3 of around 190 yards through a funnel of trees off the whites to a green that was no more than twenty yards wide and circled in a horseshoe by trees and holly bushes. Take four and run every time.

.
have to agree with the 18th at FoA a tough par 3 indeed

Trees, trees, trees. Gives me nightmares. Especially long-ish Par 3s.

If I had £1 for every par 3 where you can't hit any shape other than straight, I'd be up enough money for a set of new sticks.

Without trees, I vote another Par 3. #14 at Royal St Davids.
