Tiger's Nike Ad

very strange piece of marketing...

It's strange because Tiger has been out of the public's view for 5 months and only answered staged questions at his press conference, which would suggest he wants to keep as much of it to himself... then his main sponsor put an ad out which does nothing but make us want to find out more about what happened.

as i said, strange. it's not exactly going to make us all run out and buy Nike stuff - is it?

The markting men are trying to bring compassion and family bereavement into selling more sportswear. I think it will back fire.

Tiger has had zero input on this, its advertising guys using his picture and dubbing his late fathers voice.

Does anyone know what happened to the fresh faced kid that tore Augusta apart in '97?

The will need to change their logo.

TIGER, JUST DO IT.

Its just trying to show him as being human, If they had come out with one showing how amazing he is people would have thought that inappropriate. I think it is a bit overdone but then its possibly meant for america and they are a bit weird over there

When Old Man Woods kicked the bucket, they had a memorial ad to him then too.

Many gullible Americans lapped it up.

This is why people are cynical about Woods pleas for privacy - he tries to exploit the family stuff. So he can't complain when it comes back and bites him.

Ironically, Old Man Woods had an eye for the ladies too, so perhaps the son learned it from the father. Maybe the ad should have been a voice over of Papa saying "Go on son, get in there ..."

Daftscotsman - just seen your url (sorry to go off topic here, won't take a moment...) I saw a numberplate locally (Kent UK) 'Par 1' the other day. Do you know who's got that?
Ok...back to Tiger's naff ad...

Utter tripe. More fodder for the gullible.

I have seen it and I think it is Nike and Woods trying to further cash in on the shame and humiliation that Woods has created through his infidelity.

Even if Nike products were brilliant, I wouldn't buy them.

on a related note, the South Park episode that aired recently centred around the Tiger Woods debacle was absolutely superb!
