Attention all tiger haters, this thread is not for you.

He has announced that he'll be back to play in The Bridgestone invitational next week.

If he's fully fit , it's got to be good for the game, no?

Good another chance to show just how far he's fallen behind or possibly just how far the others have caught up and passed him.

Personally I thought he was the best golfer there'd ever been but the likes of Rory, Donald et al. have been catching up fast but as a person and role model............. he sucks and I despised him.

Whatever and whoever he screwed in his personal life he's still exciting to watch on the course and has been missed.

"and has been missed."

Not here he hasnt.
He's an arrogant, petulant, self-centred, egotistical pr@t, and quite frankly, its been hugely more enjoyable watching golf without the constant TW obsession by the Media, jeezuz I even remember the camera's showing his Car Parking space at one event.....

I give it a month before he's done something else to further sully his supposed 'greatness', - thats a laugh too.
Not fit to tie the laces of the likes of Tom Watson.........

*.....and breathe.......*

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Do we know who'll be on his bag? Carrying himself will do that knee if his no favours! ;)
b using leccy trolly seemingly :D :D.. sorry couldnt help it .. doesnt bother me either way whether he plays or not .. He has put golf where it is today tho.. (sponsorship , big prizes etc) so mayb golf owes him a break if nothing else .. but like i say if he plays .. great good for him . if he doesnt then great , good for him ..

being egotistical and self centered and focused solely on your own round without caring about anyone or anything else is what most great sports people are (though not so important in teams sports)

yes sometimes the prick like poulter or tiger doesn’t fit with club hackers (like me  ) who worry more about rules and equipment than learning to hit greens or putt. but that’s fine, the only reason that golf pros get a name of being “nice” look warm sort of fellows, is because we each have one at our clubs who need to butter is up with “sir” and “no problem” because we pay their wages.

the tour pros have to be confident to the point of belief that means they aren’t scared of anyone elses game. they couldnt give two hoots about their sponsers or any of the crap that they appear to, its simply manners for money in their position.

with tiger/someone who already has it made, they can pass on the false manners and be themselves. now the fact that Sky follow him round the course like he is the god of golf he once was, isn’t tigers.

He will be welcomed back by me, love him or hate him, golf is not golf without Tiger.

Sport on telly is about watching the best. Tiger is still one of the best, and so I want him to play. I hope he is fit enough to do himself justice.
I also hope that the cameras continue (start?) to show the best players, playing well, and not just one group, who ever that group may be. I want to see the best golf shots, played by who ever hit them.

You have to wonder how much of him coming back is down to him, or pressure from him sponsors??

Personally I think it's him wanting to get back to his best and beat Jack Nicklaus majors won record, which I think, in my opinion, isn't possible now.

I just wonder how much of it comes from sponsor pressure. People like Nike who, no doubt, have plowed millions into the TW brand and are after more of a return on their investment??

Wrong - Golf is bigger than anyone who plays it. Tiger was/is a big draw but the game is bigger. Tiger wasn't at the Open but it was still a huge tournament. As G-Mac said it doesn't say on the trophy 'D Clarke Sandwich 2010 (Tiger didn't play)'.

I hope he is fit and injury is not a problem for him but Golf is Golf whether Tiger plays or not.

I've got no problem with him returning, and hope he competes.

What I do have a problem with is the fact that coverage will be taken over by the "which Tiger will we see" debate by the commentary team and the debate as to whether he's fully fit.

And I agree with sweatysock. One man does not maketh this sport.

Well I never....

Superb to see the great man back again, hopefully he can turn the corner and return to the top of the tree again.

Was Tom Watson a saint all his days, ie when he was Tigers age?

Everyone has their demons, its how you deal with them and come out the other side that matters. Tom Watson is a great example of someone who has learnt from past mistakes and appears to be a better man for it.

I agree Tiger is a knob, but you cant judge him just now against someone like Tom Watson who has age, wisdom and importantly life experience on his side.
