How long do you think it would be before Tiger goes back to his Titleist putter...cos he needs too lol

Definately something wrong, 15 GIR yesterday and 34 putts would look great on my stats but at that level it's pretty poor

It's what's making the biggest difference in his scores. He was always a bit wild off the tee but you could bet your house on him sinking 3 or 4 15+ footers in a round.

Now it's touch and go for him sinking a 3 footer for par.

All very un-Tigerish.

Don't think it's got anything at all to do with the actually putter being used. I also doubt very much whether he has contractually agreed to use it ... there is no logic that says him losing every tournament is good for either him or Nike. Why would either of them want that ?

I'm surprised he hasn't already. They were talking on the coverage last night that he's had three different coaches who have all got him putting slightly differently and that in the opinion of Roe and Monty he definitely isn't releasing the putter head. Maybe Bob need to be sending a V-easy to him

Its not the putter its the player!!! It was hard to watch Tiger last night though but not as hard as to see Ernie Els. It was one of them where you feel you could actually putt better....

I think he was trying to copy Lee's putting....

I do think it is partly the putter, he had that same model of Scotty for ever and consider the amount he plays/practices it must be weird to use something else ??

He needs to dust off the Scotty that got him 13 of his 14 majors and start dropping some puts, its becoming painful to see so many lip out.

Cum-on tiger grab the Scotty and give it a rub for luck.

I would just like to point out that in light of the Woods scandal, the title of this tread might be a little bit unfortunate :)

It has to be contractual surely! Didn't he start using the Method when he came back from his troubles with Elin and the scandal??? If so it would make sense that Nike would make him play 14 clubs in return for sticking with them. There are plenty of people in the US who would buy a Method putter because Tiger uses one even if he is putting like a tool!!!!

I'll wager his NIKE putter has all the characteristics of his old Scotty, just like his Nike Driver when he moved looked and felt just like his old Titleist Driver. He's just having some off days on putting, the putts are close though, its not like he's got the yips or leaving putts 6 feet short.

He'll be back, mark my words:mmm:

Can you imagine the bad publicity if he went back to Scotty as his go to putter. Sales in Method putters would surely drop and it would cause a major issue between him and Nike.
Tiger is a brand for Nike in the same vein as Michael Jordan was, so can't imagine Tiger "rocking the boat", as it's worth too much money to him and Nike.

Him not swapping back and putting badly is just as much of a bad advert... the post being a case in point. Its not making me want to rush out and buy a Nike putter!

and what next, his chipping was better with Vokey's etc etc. He has lost confidence like we all do with the flat stick, but we are not paid millions to use one.

If I had the money and major count that Tiger has and I want more majors and am ok for money.... I would play what wins. That said I still say its the player not the sticks!

More interesting to me is him having the toe of the putter up in the air as he had seen that thats what was going on when he was on fire. He is looking for what he had and that is all he can do!

In a way it's quite admirable that he isn't running back to his old putter. A tacit admission that it's his stroke and not the club at fault.

Seen plenty of quotes from Tiger himself and pundits all saying there is a technical issue relating to lack of release of the putter head during the stroke.

Blaming the putter is how we'd all react ;)
