Rumour has it that Tiger has received a brain implant (allegedly). A small cell that aims gives him the following characteristics:

  • A Sense of Humour
    A Personality
    An ability to control temper
    Some control of bad language
    Removal of dirty spitting habits
To be a better role model to the kids

I'm sorry if this sounds negative but brilliant though he is I'm pretty much fed up with his antics on the course. I also tire of watching 'The Tiger Show' at every event he competes in. The TV seem perplexed on watching his every move. While there is a golf competition happening on the course we are mostly having to watch Tiger warming up, Tiger practicing his putts, Tiger walking to the first tee. Then we have to watch Tiger throwing his clubs around, Tiger spitting and swearing and Tiger being an all round grumpy ***.

Take a leaf from Paddy's book Tiger. Try and enjoy yourself, after all you do have $1 billion in the bank, and you're still as miserable as sin!!

Whoops - I think I may have just posted my second somewhat controversial thread!!

I think the thing you need to look at is Tiger is trying to play golf while this circus is going on, in other words he isn't doing it, he is caught up in it and I think that is why he looks so annoyed all the time.

I wish they wouldn't show him on telly til he is on the course, as that is daft. I remember watching the crowds at the gate waiting for Tiger (and his empty parking space got some coverage too), rather than someone else playing golf. However, this isn't his fault, it is the producer and director of the telly coverage.

As for the rest, I don't give a stuff. I watch the golf. It isn't a grinning contest, just a sporting one. He doesn't have to be happy. Flip, I'm not all the time either.

You must be on a wind up here Sandy.

The only thing that is indefencible is the spitting thing, just becasue it is dirty that's all. He could make an effort to at least be discreet when doing it.

Take a look at this for how good a role model the guy is.

Be like Paddy?? have you never watched an interview with him?? He will shoot 64 and still say that it was only adequate or say the swing is still a work in progress, hardly happy go lucky.

Top sportsmen are generally very guarded because people like Sandy who want them to be funny, outgoing etc will pounce on something they say if it's not to their humour etc. Better to be bland than to fight off controversy every week.

I loved that part of the coverage!! Are you saying that you're against people that have a car-parking-space fetish?

Go Tiger! :p

Most of us would like Tiger to behave how he used to behave. The Tiger of 1997 to 2003 seemed a much more likeable character.

Many commentators seem to feel he has not handled the passing of his father and mentor, Earl Woods at all well.

He lives in a bubble world, can't be that much fun. I'd rather be in the position of a top 20 pro than no.1. I bet Steve Stricker or Lee Westwood wouldn't get mobbed if they went for a walk down the street or just went for a pint.

Undoubtably, he is THE most miserable git to feature on a Golf course, and I make no bones about stating that I cant stand watching him.

yes yes.....I know how 'good' he is, and how much he 'wants' to win etc, and I admire those qualities, but nonethe less, it doesnt alter me hating to look at his miserable face.

The fact that he might have had his back windows, (and nearly his head) caved in by his wife, as a result of his 'alleged' extra-marital horizontal jogging, is rather childishly pleasing to my strange sense of justice......

Hey ho.......he might soon have only Half a Billion in said Bank account.

How will he get by ???

But Feds blubs all the time. Not something I am keen on. Win = blub, loss = blub. Way too much emotion of the wrong sort. And that white jacket, what the heck is that all about.

Other top sportsmen, Bootmender in F1, every interview was 'it was very difficult today'. Also a cheating git.

Pete Sampras, hardly a laugh a minute.

Wayne Rooney and Drogba, hardly likely to make your guest list either.

Just face it, truly successful sportsmen are driven to succeed, and are permanently miserable. If they aren't, then they are often not that good. Westwood, Clarke, etc. Good guys, won nothing of note.

I agree (murph that must be a first for us) being good at something requires dedication from an early age, this does not always aid the development of a personality.

SB, do you happen to know when they've scheduled the operation to have the 3 wood stuck up his arse by his wife removed :D :D :D :D

I wonder just how many of the non Tiger fans were fans of his when he was coming up the ranks and playing the level of golf previously unseen. It seems to me to be the classic British case of watching someone get to the top and cheering him all the way ala Faldo and Monty only to knock them every opportunity they get when they have reached the pinnacle of the game. Everyone has a personality trait that gets someone's back up from time to time. I don't like the spitting for instance. However I loved to watch him play years ago and still love to watch him now. GO TIGER!
