Tiger as Withdraw From The Players Championship

I think any little respect he had has just gone. Wait 24 hours for a nice press release about being injured again.

Go away Tiger, no-one cares any more.

I don't agree with all of your posts Paul, but this hits it right on the head.

"Oh noes! I'm joint last. Well, chuff this, I can't be arsed..Oh..me legs hurts a bit".

Watching Tiger is like watching Michael Schumacher at the weekend, REALLY HARD!

Two guys there were the very very best, unstoppable you would have to say, and now they are turd!

Astec, I dont want to hear a word about what I just said!!! :o :o :o :o

I replied to a thread recently saying how I though all of the critisism surrounding Tiger was crap and that he'd show everyone sometime soon.

Unfortunatly for me the guy undoubtedly has the talent but lacks the mental stability and self believe.

Shame

what is it with the tiger haters on this forum. the guy was limping badly from word go, arguably shouldnt have tried to rush back but it is a big tourney

golf is far better for having tiger in its ranks, the guy has done huge amounts for the game and is still the biggest draw in the game, despite the "anti-tiger" brigade on this forum

He's done huge amounts for the game, but he needs to know when to call it a day.

Not make a half arsed attempt to play if he knows he's injured.

I'll reserve judgement until I see him on the telly.

However, surely he consulted his doctor before playing. If he's knackered himself on the first tee, that suggests he wasn't fit to start with... would be interesting to know what his doctor thought.

Agree tiger is a massive crowd drawer in the world of golf but if he's not fit he shouldn't appear. Plain and simple.
Saying that, years ago a 75% fit tiger was good enough for a top 5 placing......

Why, just so you can prove a point? Do you think he give a f*ck what we think?

No, because it ruins TV coverage for the rest of the world. I'm sure that tonight's coverage will be 90% "oh no! Tiger pulled out" and 10% the rest of the field.

Once he realises that he needs to call it a day so he'll actually be able to walk and play with his kids as they grow up, the rest of the world can get back to normal and enjoying the new generation of golfers.

I love what he's done for our sport, but do you really want to see another 5-10 years of "This is going to be Tiger's comeback tournament!" coverage?

Woooaah! Calm down dear! ;)

Seem to recall Tigger winning some 2-bit American Tourney with a knackered knee ligament and fractured leg a couple of years back - playing 5 rounds in the process....

According to the write-up he knew it was going to hurt just not as much as it did.

Also....

Would we be having the same discussion if Ian Poulter had done the same....????????????

I can't speak for everyone, but yes I would be having the same conversation whoever it was. Why play if you're injured. :D It just gets magnified when Tiger does it because everyone thinks he's untouchable. I suppose the next tournament he's signed up for will be "the one" where he makes his miraculous Tiger-like comeback.

We'll see, eh?

ESPN America run two superb discussions shows, Around the Horn and Pardon the Interruption. You can get them on free download from ESPN the following morning. They will be awesome tomorrow when they start on Tiger for this one.
