Tidworth Garrison Golf Club and Accommodation

Hi all
I'm looking for some advice please on Tidworth Garrison GC and local accommodation, more the local accommodation.

Has anyone played at TGGC? and has anyone stayed in a local B&B, Hotel etc they can recommend?

I've had a brief look at local GC's but have'nt seen any with dormy's??

I have only played it once and really enjoyed it. Very unique experience with the machine gun fire going off. Found the place to be very friendly and would play again. Can't help with accommodation though.

Have a look on ARSSE forum there should be a section in there for Royal Artillery, there are loads of regiments round there. I imagine there are several decent B&Bs with 10 minutes drive.

Have a look at B and B's in Amesbury there are quite a few and it is only about 15 min from Tidworth GC. Could also try the Stonehenge Inn which is just up the road near Larkhill again only about 15 mins away.

Played there yesterday in a league match, course was in good nick though the greens were a little slow. Rough is quite tall but fairly wispy so half a chance of finding a ball - although not always getting it out!
Clubhouse is good with great food and local beers.

Did get put off a bit on the 17th with an Apache attack helicopter at less than 100 feet slowly making its way down the fairway towards us. A high wedge shot could have been interesting!

Is The Great Bustard Inn still operational, that used to be a fun place?
Probably best bet is to find somewhere in Salsibury.
