I cut my thumb today with a saw and its ruled me out for upto 2 weeks :(

It's quite deep but not deep enough for stitches just about.

Its our captains drive in and I've got a singles match to play before Sunday. I might have to give my opponent the match if I can't swing a club by Saturday.

What a time for that to happen mate! What you reckon your chances are of being ok for weekend? Cant imagine the thumb being too comfy on a golf club :(

I'm hoping by Saturday I'll be swinging but the nurse said at least 7 days before I start trying to play.

You mean after 15 years you will finally start wow that nurse is good

You're about as funny as toothache, I'd still beat you with a gammy thumb though.

Strap it up, get some nurofen in you and play through bud.......beware the injured golfer. Hope it gets better soon partner. We got a few opens to crack on with this year !!

It's not sore mate, the wound is the fleshy bit below the knuckle and I've got to keep it straight otherwise the butterfly stitches won't hold.

I'm hoping by Saturday morning it'll be sound and I can play with a plaster on it.

Sorry to hear that fella.

If all else fails, I'll put on 4 stone, wear a Jimmy kranky wig and get a foghorn fitted and play the match for you. :)

£20 an hour I want.

if its your right thumb then take it off the grip might feel a bit wierd but least you giving it a go

if its your left one your fooked! give him the match

It'll be healed enough to play by Sat I would think and to be sure I'd just get some kidnap tape round the whole thumb. It'll keep it straight and stop the butterfly's moving too much.

I sliced through the side of my index finger once the night before going for a hybrid fitting !! Pretty bad it was too. Some homemade butterfly stitches 2 plasters and topped off with a couple of rounds of cellotape got me through it.

Where there is a will there is a way.

I feel your pain. I cut my left index finger last Friday which made Sundays round a smidge painful. I had to change back to the baseball grip to swing and I was naling it. Every cloud .

Deary me , what a clumsy bunch we are

Did the same thing with a knife a couple of weeks ago :o , just getting right now.
Stu,see if you can hit ok with the thumb off the grip as stated above.
Otherwise, take it easy mate or it'll just keep opening up.
