Played in the medal today & just didn't seem to be timing the shots at all, getting no distance & finishing short of people I normally hit it past. It got ridiculous at the 360 yard 16th where, against the wind, I was short with a drive & 3 wood. It eventually occurred to me that there may be something wrong with the Bridgestone B330 lake ball I was using. I changed balls at 17 and hit a drive past the two FCs who had been outdriving me all day.

I felt really stupid that it had taken so long to realise this but a lot of the shots just felt as if I hadn't quite caught them. I wouldn't care, I normally use brand new ball for competitions, serves me right for being a tight wad.

I agree with this post. I have had it happen to me too. I'm sure that it's not just psychological or a kind of weird placebo type reaction either.

Inspired by this I have

I had a day like this yesterday. Hit some cracking drives even down wind and they just didn't seem to be flying anywhere and I seemed to be hitting a club more into all the greens. I thought it was just me. Perhaps the UK is infected with some short hitting virus. Has the R&A made something airborne to make protect courses from being made obsolete by the pro and GM Forum long hitters?
