This weekend

Further to my earlier post reference Advice on New Clubs (the "To Buy the Nicklaus or Not" thread), a workmate has kindly handed over his Mizuno MX15 T-Zoids for the weekend with a view to purchase.

Good club anyone? A few replies to that thread suggested the later model Mizzies, but I can't imagine these will be much different. At least if they do work, it will keep £350 in my pocket and i can spend it on lessons!!!!

I have heard good things about MX-15s and am sure that they are not that different from the latest model, the MX-19. Just be aware that there have been 2 subsequent versions so price should not be that high. If you do an online search I think some companies are still selling them new so at least will give you an idea of second hand value.

They seem in pretty good nick, and I had the £100-£150 mark in my head, so let's see.

I bought the MX17's at christmas and love them!

I can't see how the 15's would be any different markwarne.

The 17's cost me £180 at AG so you should pay about £120 in my opinion.

I play 0ff 28 and even my bad connections get up and away!

Offer him £80 and let HIM haggle the price up. Tell him you will need to regrip them as you need midsize grips as opposed to the wee thin gimpy grips he used.

Mark, i too have a set of Mizuno MX-17s and they are pure velvet. Had a look at the MX-15s first and they seemed pretty simlar - the key difference is the MX-17 have a wider sole which should help us hackers (28ers).
