I just had a thought when posting in another thread regarding todays weather, I know london and most of southern england has had a bit of a mixed bag this past week, here in Co. Down its been great. I think in the past month and a bit there has been maybe 2 full days of rain and the rest has been at worst overcast, best being days like today and friday week ago. This got me thinking and had a nosey at the met office stats,
May 2008
Mean temperatures generally 2 °C to 3 °C above average, but only 1 °C to 2 °C above average across eastern parts of Scotland and NE England. Provisionally, the warmest May in the series back to 1914 for the UK, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Rainfall well above average across southern areas of England and Wales, but below average across central and northern areas of the UK. Sunshine ranging from below average across south-western areas of the UK to well above average across northern areas of Scotland.
This time last year it waws a little indifferent with rain one day, sun the next etc etc.
Gratuitous sunny golf pic warning, this was taken last friday while playing Carnalea Golf Club just around the bay from my own club Bangor GC. My arms, face and neck have never differed so much in colour from the rest of my body in years.

Feel free to post up your own or other clubs played this past month, golf courses always look better bathed in sunshine!

May was actually a wierd month with the weather here on the East side of Scotland. We had a fairly cold Easterly of North Easterly wind coming in off the North Sea for most of the time. OK it was a dry month, only a couple of days of rain so the ground has dried out after the winter, but, it's only just begining to warm up now. This weekend had been a belter with good sunshine most of the time.

Where I am it has rained every day for the last 2 weeks. Today has been the first day of uninterrupted sunshine for ages.
