Anyone else tempted?

There's a really good feature on Snedeker's putting stroke in this months mag. I don't usually read the instruction features but I was interested to see how he really does it and I find myself more than a little intrigued by it. I might give it a go over winter and see what it's like. This is a bit of a turnaround for me have previously dismissed it but what's the worst that can happen?

No no no.

Snatch, twitch, yip all spring to mind when I watch him.

Not that it does him any harm mind ;)

I gave it a go earlier in the year, and found it difficult to keep a loose grip on the club. Distance putting was also a bit of a lottery!

longer putts I find a bit of a lottery with distance control using this type of putting method. there is something to be said about popping a 6footer. less room for the club to go offline. slam it in!

Tried thsi yesterday, distance putting was much better but found it harder not to smash short ones.
Gonna persevere with this for the winter on slower greens.

I'll go with this.

Having said that, he's not a bad putter of the ball. When I look at some of the better putters on tour, the likes of Doanld, Woods, Toms, they all have very smooth, deliberate strokes that ooze control.

I think it would take a huge amount of practice to control puts using Sneds' method.

Im sure he has been working on it for years.
Have you got enough time for practice.:D

Serious question now.
How long do you think it would take to change from your current stroke.
Sneds as obviously been doing it for years.
Most people neglect the putting stroke they have and hardly ever practice.
Its going to take hours of dedication

No idea TBH, I suspect I'll give it a go, hate it and revert back to normal. It's more intrigue than desire.

That's the thing that impresses me the most about Sneds's putting. I find his ability to control distance with that stroke amazing.

As for trying it, I'm sure it wouldn't make me a worse putter than I am just now. However, I'm trying to build a decent stroke at the moment so it's probably not a good time to start mucking about with other styles.
