Bought the Blu ray version of this last night. Sat and watched it with the missus and was mesmerised for over 2 hours.
I was never a massive fan but say what you like about Michael Jackson the guy was an absolute genius both with his music and dance.
I personally feel that he was one of (it not the) most gifted entertainers ever.
Let the piss taking commence but I don't give a hoot.
He was fantastic, and if you haven't seen the film yet I highly recommend it.
:D :D

Smiffy, I'm not and never was a fan of the guy, but I can empathise with what you're saying. I took my girlfriend to a Take That concert in Rotterdam for her birthday a couple of years back and no matter what anyone says about them I thought it was the best I'd ever seen. Had never been a fan of them but what a show. True entertainers.

The kiddy fiddling, the bad dancing, the grabbing suggestively at his crotch all the time, the 'ow' noises, the music (let's not forget that), the being a berk, the dying himself white, the plastic surgery, the fact that you never see him and germain (or janet) at the same time, the monkey stuff, Neverland, dangling his kid out of a window, wearing a black glove (especially when he didn't play golf), talking in a stupid high pitched voice, knowing Yuri Gellar....

There's more I'm sure.

Who would want to watch that? It makes me cringe.

Oh, and due to the O2 thing being cancelled (understandably - he was dead afterall), I had to go to 'Strictly' at the O2 which was put on instead.

But other than that he was ok?

The guy was a genius - no doubt. His music remained at the very top of the pile for nigh on fifty years. Thriller is still one of the best selling albums of all time, if not the best selling.
I believe that he'd had so many breakdowns that he'd didn't know what day of the week it was, where he was or what his name was. I reckon that because of his rubbish childhood he'd regressed to a child himself.

I could be wrong though and he could have been America's Gary Glitter.

I couldn't give a toss about his private life...
Well maybe I could if I saw some of the videos :D :D

I'm just saying he was a brilliant entertainer.
Much better than the crap they are serving up nowadays.

Did I mention I'm going to see Julian Clarey on Sunday Evening at the White Rock, Hastings
;) ;)

Lol

So, we have a coloured American who is /was a genious at his profession, argueably the best ever, who lost the plot, believed his own bulls**t, went into hiding and ended up a lost spoilt very rich soul.
And then, there's Michael Jackson. :)

i think that if these concerts went ahead they would have been something else to see but to do 50 dates would have been exhausting for him in his reported condition

50 dates! that would put you six feet under.

Looking at what they were doing in rehearsals, I have no doubt that those concerts would have been the pop concerts to end all pop concerts.
Don't care what anybody says about Jackson. He was a true superstar. Fantastic entertainer.
