We stayed in Findon on holiday last year. It's such a lovely part of England.

The place where this happened is just down the road from where we stayed. What a sad event!

I'm no layer, and I'm guessing neither are you. But if someone is arrested for murder using armed police, they are guilty and there is enough evidence to convict then arguably the best justice system in the world would ensure he is convicted.

And I very much doubt they would 'get off'.
 
I don't think the op meant get off in the no punishment not guilty sense but in a lesser sentence or minimum security psychiatric hospital sense just not a straight murder in cold blood kind of sentence.
 
It's cases like this why the death penalty should be allowed.
Why should the scum that did this be allowed to live after taking a life in this way?

From whats come out so far and not living far away it sounds absolutely horrific knife attack over what looks like a small RTA at the moment anyway

We will see how the story develops over the next few months
 
Glad they have made an arrest and charged the bloke but it makes no difference to the family who've had a loved one ripped away from them. Not sure the death penalty is the answer but life imprisonment should mean exactly that.

Disagree.
Life imprisionment is utterly pointless when they get all mod cons and luxuries like Sky TV just so they don't riot!
And saying that we have taken away their Liberty and it's punishment enough is codswallop!

Rehabilitation becomes necessary if the person will rejoin society at some point. Otherwise its just a total waste of effort and resources.

Obviously the key is imprisoning only those that are redeemable... and imho that's not this guy.
 
We know nothing of the circumstances of the case apart from what the media have told us. So how you can scream kill him is a bit of an extremist reaction, just a burning effigy off a 10 o'clock news appearence.
 
Too much anger, jealousy, resentment and fear in too many folks today. We are not the calm and compassionate society we used to be though we pretend that we still are.

And as that fear and resentment pervades so many and so much of today - it is used by the politicians and media to their own ends - at the long term expense of our compassion for others and the loss to the rest of us of reasonably content lives.

You been to prison lately, or are you making the assumption it's a cushty number with mod cons, sky TV and the like based on something else?
 
I live in the village of Findon. This happened about 300 yards as the crow flies from our front door.

Very sad.

I agree totally.
In fact I said this on another thread on this forum in reference to the Lee Rigby murder and was told that my opinions make me NO BETTER than the murderers of that poor lad!

Not been to prison lately but my lad did and it was cushy. He worked at Lowdham Grange. Some prisons are Cat A and some are cushy. The idea of prison now is to reabilitate. Some prisoners will and some won't, end of. So why is it still cushy for them that have no intentions of being rehabilitated.
re this particular individual who has been arrested and charged with murder. He was driving around with a knife in his car. It could well of happened to anyone anywhere, just for a driving incident.
Mr and Missis Tash were witnesses to an atrocious "road rage" incident at 70 mph on the A1 only last week in which other innocents could of been killed.
what has not been mentioned on here yet is the occupation of this arrested individual. There are people on here that may well of known him.
 
He is a greenskeeper. I know much more about this case from local sources too but it would be unwise to divulge at this stage.
