This game can be so frustrating

Played Hollinwell (Notts Golf Club) near Mansfield in Nottinghamshire today. I have been playing quite well over the winter and over recent weeks playing to my handicap.

everything was wrong today snap hooks of the tee, poor short game, very poor putting (though the greens were awful) and only 22 points .........aaaargh!!

I had 21 points round Edenbridge a couple of weeks ago.

Just when you thought you had mastered the game... It comes back and bites you on the ass.

Story of my game, except take the mastered out and replaced with a little self confidence.

I had one yesterday. Out in +7 gross in the medal (including a triple at the 1st) and then checked into hacksville on the way back and couldn't hit a drive or a green. How can it go from being a nice smooth swing to something like a cat and dog fighting in a tumble drier.

I played at my place yesterday and shot a 74. Lesson this morning and another game this afternoon, I was awful, closer to 94 and not a bit of my game was working. Frustrating - Yeah thats one word for it.

By the way forgot to mention just to compound matters made schoolboy error of wearing new shoes for full 18 holes and I now have the blisters to remind me of this horror show !

Hehe... had one of them today...

Was 4 over after 4, then eagled the 8th to bring it back to 2 over, just missed a birdie on the 9th...was fighting back, 19points after a shaky start... Then the wheels locked up, fell off and rolled away.... made 2 pars on the way in, 4 bogies and 3 blobs, 8pts for the back 9
I'm sure I hit almost every tree on the back 9, can't be many left that don't have a Srixon imprint on them

... but I'll live to fight another day.

Can't be Footjoys then, because you CAN wear Footjoys for 18 holes first time out without any problems at all.

glad i'm not the only one suffering...

had been playing very well just before the bad weather then had my first full round out on Saturday. Driving and putting were fine... i couldn't hit any of my irons to save myself though.

Most frustrating game of golf i've ever had i think.
