Have had my Burner2 clubs for about 2 years. Depending on usage, different clubs have starting to show early signs of wear out. I am sure they can last another year without the expense. However my (highly used) Yonex 4 hybrid was dancing about in my palm last week, so could do with a newer grip.

Any suggestions on how to select new grips? Brands? Costs? Anyone recently gone thru with a regripping?
PS: Planning to give it to my pro to do the honors. Cant risk a botched DIY on my shinys..

When I re-gripped my MP32 Irons at the start of the year I used Lamkin Performance Plus 3gen grips and thought theuy were excellent. I even did my MP-T10 wedges with them at the time.

They had Golf Pride New Decade Multi-Compounds on before which were a nice grip.

At the end of this season I'm going to re-grip my MP63's and T4 wedges with these:

I fancy the full cord route for a change :D

The Lamkin Performance Plus 3gen was on my shopping list. Any reason you are changing out of these? Also do fancy corded ones, but would love to hit those puppies first before changing over.

The Lamkin are on my old irons.

My MP63's the the stock Mizuno M21 grips and the wedges the the M31 grips.

Good enough grips, but feel a little spongey. I prefer a slightly firmer grip.

I think, I have a spare Lamkin Performance 3Gen grip and some tape kicking about at home. If you like I can drop them in the post for you tomorrow. That way you can fit it to a club and see if you like it before comitting to doing a full set with them?

I went with the tour velvet my clubs last year, good price and great feel on the clubs.

I did it DIY and had no problems at all, just a case of waiting for them to dry, and having the smell of white spirit for a couple days. It works out a lot cheaper too, every where around me are about 3 times more expensive for a full regrip.

If they are slipping and shiney it's definately time to change.
I did all mine about 6 weeks ago golf pride multicompound for me.
Fairly easy job really did them over 3 days in my half hour lunch break.
Reckon your pro will put grips on for around £6/7 a piece.

I got my pro to re-grip a couple of my woods the other week. I have Golf Pride Multicompound on my irons and wanted something similar. He gave me Black Widow grips, which I'd never heard of but which are perfectly good for my needs.

£20 all in.

I decided just to let the Pro do mine incase we or rather Hubby screwed it up. Cost me £6 per club. Dropped them off after playing golf and picked them up next day. Simples:D

I used Sharpro grips last time & have been really happy with them at a fraction of the price of Golf pride. Theirs plenty of videos on YouTube on how to do it.

I always use Gamola for my grips, and always get my pro or a local clubmaker to fit them.

I've just won a set of Lamkin crossline ace 3gen grips which I'm waiting to be delivered. Will review them once fitted.

regripped my mizuno irons over winter, great buzz when finished. use plenty of white spirit. i was a little tight with it on one of my irons and it would go the whole way on. i used science and a bit of brute force to get the grip off after it had been stuck on. i then used a generous amount of white spirts the second time. lesson learnt!

My pro has a very small range so I tend to order anything other than tour velvet or lamkin crossline via Gamola and he just charges me to fix them. I'm too lazy to do it myself

Bet your Pro loves you with the amount of £££ you chuck at him.
You can re-grip a full set in less than 1hr. If you've got access to a vice it makes it easier, but not essential.

I regripped my Nikes with Funk'd Revolution cord and really liked them. At £30 for 13 grips I was we'll chuffed but they a thin grips so would recommend and extra layer of grip tape

I've got new clubs with tour velvets fitted and will stick with these until next year

go to funk'd golf site.I've just bought 13 bright orange new generation tacky grips(was a birthday prezzie from SWMBO).
cost was £54/56?.had our pro fit them and boy,do they stand out-its like a high vis jacket on the course!
Can't wait to get back out on the course now,my missus thinks i need help???!!
The grips are tacky in all weather, seem great value!

Look good those mate, might try them next time:thup:

If money were no object Iomics are awesome have one on my putter but they are pricey! I still love multi compounds, great traditional grip. or regrip with TM's own.

Tried regriping for the first time a few weeks ago and it turned out well. Put golf pride new decade multi compound whiteoutes in red and white on the irons and put white funkd funky tacky grips on the wedges. Done it with very limited tools and was really pleased with the outcome :) was pretty simple. think the key is just to use plenty of white spirits. Both grips feel great and look good too!
