Now I've only had my Cleveland CG16's about 18months* and I do really like them, but 1 week ago during a golf lesson the head of my 6 irons sheered off...

*The club is getting replaced under warranty.

That little oops isn't necessarily something to want to change my irons for, but as soon as the lesson had finished, my club was boxed up, addressed and made ready for a Monday pickup. One week later the Cleveland rep still hasn't bothered his ass to get it collected and sent away or to get a new 6 iron sent as replacement. It's not the shops fault, they have been brilliant, but if this is the kind of support Cleveland are giving their customers they can go get stuffed.

So, I'm toying with the idea of asking the shop to tell Cleveland I was going to upgrade my irons to a newer Cleveland set, but because of their very poor customer service, I'm trading my current set in and going to get fitted from a manufacturer who respect their customers. The shop would be able to provide several makes and models for me to try.

I don't really need to change my irons, but I do really dislike poor customer service [from Cleveland], where we the paying public are treated as mugs.

Am the same mate got cg16 hit them very well, however I've now tried the nike coverts a few times and love them, if I had a buyer for mine I would take the plunge and change. Had my cg16 2 years and do really like them also tho

I would tell them that youre thinking of changing BRAND

E-mail Cleveland. I'm sure they take customer satisfaction seriously and they may be keen to hear that a rep isn't doing the best for their customers

I've already used twitter to generally voice my displeasure and got a reply with the UK customer service number, but that's not really the point, I wasn't after anything other than perhaps an apology, after all, one of their reps is being lazy, but all they could do was give me the UK customer service number, even though I had told them the shop where I purchased the irons was dealing with the broken club.

Strikes me as illogical!

By all means don't buy Cleveland (or Srixon, as same company) for your next set, but why throw money away now? Wait until club is replaced until telling them you won't be a repeat customer.

Your dispute is not with Cleveland. It is with the shop. The shop may have, in turn, a dispute with Cleveland, but in the meantime it is the shop's responsibility to see you right in a timely manner.
