Playing today and a kestrel flew into a bush no more than 5 metres from us.

Heard a bit of a kerfuffle and a lot of screeching and the kestrel flies off with a still screeching blackbird in its talons. Brutal thing nature.

playing our 6th hole and a crow flew down and took a baby rabbit. started pecking the head before flying off with it. poor rabbit was screaching like hell.

Red Kites
Buzzards
Muntjac
Deer
Fox
Woodpeckers
A Harrier Hawk Type bird

In the early summer mornings we get groups of 4-6 lads crawling on their hands and knees in the rough on a few holes looking for magic mushrooms and the woods on one side of the course hosts at least 3-4 illegal raves that continue till at least 9 or 10am.
Seen and heard some wildlife

One of the rarest things to spot is..................…..............a golfer 🏌️

Two PP were discussing the sounds a particular bird was making. One said it was a lapwing, one said a Buzzard. Lapwing PP gave a Solid arguement as to why it was a lapwing. I was convinced until Buzzard PP said I can not only hear it but see it. After half a minute we could not see a thing. Then it took off, flippin Eck. They look killing machines.
Odd thing is, I thought about this on Thursday when I saw two crows harassing a buzzard in flight. They were having a right go at the buzzard til the buzzards other half turned up.
Dont know if it is me but there seems to be a lot more of them knocking about.

This bugger ...

Australian Magpie. Big (80cm wingspan) and very aggressive during the nesting season.

They attack from behind usually, swooping down on your head clacking their beak and attempting to peck near your face.

They seem to have a particular hatred of cyclists and golfers. Possibly something to do with our movement. Considered a pest and a road-safety hazard in Aus, just a bit less common here (NZ).

Unlikely I'm afraid - very few Harriers left in the UK and very unlikely to behave far inland as here...
Probably a pale buzzard or a kite
Had "sightings" over here but you're as likely to see a Golden Eagle here....

It was a sparrow hawk

That would have been a sparrowhawk, nor a kestrel.Stunning birds.
