Putting on the agony putting on the style on the green green grass of home.

Off topic but this reminds me of when I picked my 9 year old son from school yesterday. He got in the car and the green, green grass of home by Tom Jones was playing.

Him "I love this song Dad."

Me - "that's nice son, although it's quite a sad song if you listen carefully to the words."

Him - "Yeah, I know what you mean Dad."

Me - "so what do you think this is about then?"

Him (quick as a flash!) "Gardening Dad, obviously."

I think I laughed for a full minute! Priceless!

Well excellent on the music front - but was actually thinking wider. So (and this isn't a great example) the old-fashioned saying...

'What a card!' as in 'What a witty and eccentric person' has obvious golfing connotations nothing to do with the original saying - and the difference is in the inflection on the word 'card' when spoken - down in the original - up in the context of golf.

And so for instance we know what being 'shafted' means - but in golf?
