1. Practicing after the second lesson is much more fun than after the first one which mainly consisted of fixing my awful posture and setup.

2. Saturday morning is when our practice ground is quietest - just a few lads hitting some warm up balls then off to play their round - it's busy during the week.

3. Never ever put your car keys in the boot of a Volkswagen which locks itself automatically after a short time.

4. Ecco Street golf shoes are the biz when you have to walk nearly a mile each way through the town to the wife's work place to get the spare car key.

5. Walked part of the way through the course - walking on a golf course is much more fun than down a street even when you're not playing.

I hate that!!! Self locking cars are technology for the sake of it.... not useful at all.

If you're going to have it at all then the car should only do it when it 'senses' that the keys are more than 10ft away.

Interesting day. Better than mine. Crap range session, dragged to the shops and spent the day de-cluttering. I hate self locking boots too for the same reason as you and the enforced hike to get a spare key

Good day, bad day, good day then :-)

Today I learnt that 4 rounds of golf in the rain in 5 days is 1 round of golf in the rain too many. Not usually tempted to call it a day but very tempted today, and not enjoying it much at all. Sun is going to shine tomorrow though

It all evens out - got back with the spare key and hit some more balls - striking it pretty well considering it's early days in a massive swing change.

Then photographed the first competitive first team goal scored by a 16 year old kid who is going to be a star - hopefully this picture this pic will pay for the rest of my lessons over the winter

Regarding car keys, a friend has one of these keys in the pocket ones. The wife walked off with them and he drove 40 miles stopped and parked up and could not lock up or restart the car. Huge taxi bill to get the missus with the keys near the car...

Is that not impossible as all the cars need the keys within radio range to have the engine still going ?

You must have the key in the car with you I thought ?

I did that with a 5 series once.

Parked up in an underground Asda car park, got out and headed off on my way shopping. Return to the motor 45 minutes later, and I can hear an engine running....

Keys were in my pocket the whole time. Car, unlocked, still running when I got back to it. Lucky boy!

What was the make/model ?

You are talking about a major failure with that car.

Not a failure, just a design feature. A lot nowadays will keep running in absence of the key until stopped, at which point the driver realises they were sitting on the petrol station forecourt after falling out of his pocket. Could be very frustrating on a long run but ultimately the drivers fault rather than the manufacturer, alternative is that the car shuts down just as it pulls out onto the motorway resulting in a few hours on the hard shoulder.
