At the weekend we were playing and found ourselves following a group of young lads who were obviously new at the game. As they were being held up by a group in front of them we got chatting about when we started playing etc. I had a load of balls in my bag that I had found and they were all pretty good as I don't bother to pick up old cut balls. I offered these to the young lads and one of them turned round and said "No thanks, I only use Pro V1s"
Looking at their bags, they all had the latest clubs and gear. Whatever happened to the poor youth?

To be serious, I agree with you. But if they've got the money to lose x number of proV1s every round then let them. All the more for you to pick up next time you play

Maybe they saw sense to use the best balls on the Market... Then again at £35 a dozen as a beginner I bet they go thru them like no tomorrow! Happy days for you to find them!

Sounds like fun playing behind these guys. Reminds me of a round I played a few years ago. I ended up right behind the Heinz corporate golf day, 40 or 50 players who had all been given dozens of titleists as gifts. I think about 20 of them had ever played before this round. It took me 6 hours to play 18 holes, but I did find about 40 shiny new titleists... I don't think I ever bought a golf ball again...

After having a very good week at the range and during my lesson, I decided to treat myself to a few expensive balls, but during my round on Sunday, I couldn't use them for fear of losing them, so I played with an old Fitleist NXT as my brother calls them, it actually played very well.

Do you think there's a chance that we'll be supplied with 'corporate' balls when we play in the Centennial matches?

May have said no because they knew they were playing badly and felt embarassed. I know i would have probably done the same.
