At the weekend we were playing and found ourselves following a group of young lads who were obviously new at the game. As they were being held up by a group in front of them we got chatting about when we started playing etc. I had a load of balls in my bag that I had found and they were all pretty good as I don't bother to pick up old cut balls. I offered these to the young lads and one of them turned round and said "No thanks, I only use Pro V1s"
Looking at their bags, they all had the latest clubs and gear. Whatever happened to the poor youth?

To be fair, i'm not certain i'd like a rummage around your ball bag either :-/

To be serious, I agree with you. But if they've got the money to lose x number of proV1s every round then let them. All the more for you to pick up next time you play ;)

Maybe they saw sense to use the best balls on the Market... Then again at £35 a dozen as a beginner I bet they go thru them like no tomorrow! Happy days for you to find them! :)

Sounds like fun playing behind these guys. Reminds me of a round I played a few years ago. I ended up right behind the Heinz corporate golf day, 40 or 50 players who had all been given dozens of titleists as gifts. I think about 20 of them had ever played before this round. It took me 6 hours to play 18 holes, but I did find about 40 shiny new titleists... I don't think I ever bought a golf ball again...

After having a very good week at the range and during my lesson, I decided to treat myself to a few expensive balls, but during my round on Sunday, I couldn't use them for fear of losing them, so I played with an old Fitleist NXT as my brother calls them, it actually played very well.
