There May Be Trouble Ahead......

I think more than trump should be concerned by the number of these monstrosities blighting our countryside...

Indeed. Tourists come to Scotland for (amongst other things) the scenery, these hulking monstrosities blighting the landscape will eventually turn them away.

Trump is spot on in his condemnation of wind farms.

It's a difficult argument. How productive have they proved to be in terms of energy production? I can see the argument against tourism and blighting the landscape but if they can and do provide a sustainable means of energy and can get better then surely it has to be considered. Anything that upsets Trump is fine by me. Not his biggest fan

they are a lot more acceptable to me than the armies of giant and ugly pylons and cables that bestride our countryside

Why? And you do realise that we need MORE pylons and cables across the country to distribute the power from these things.

We're taking some of the most beautiful countryside in the world and slapping tons of industrial machinery on them and they can't even replace the need for fossil-fuelled power stations....

They can if they use nuclear fuel.

They just aren't such a blight on the landscape as the pylons. Quite elegant actually.

There is a giant one of this built in my home town, you hardly ever see it running as it is always broken down.......

The things are pretty much everywhere now and they are even filling fields with solar panels too.

Offshore ones are OK but I understand they are having problems with corrosion who would of ever thought that would happen, in the sea of all places.....

They are in the process of installing 4 monsters not far from Glenbervie, not a fan, as for Mr T if he's investing in Golf in Scotland and he is that makes him ok by me.

Maybe the Dutch should get rid of their tourist attracting windmills, they're much the same only slightly smaller on picture post cards:whistle:.

Better to have clean green energy from wind turbines, than dangerous nuclear or dirty fossil fueled power stations on your doorstep. IMO.

Let's just hope it's not too windy or not windy enough, otherwise we'll need to stock up on candles.

You think Scotland is bad? Cornwall will take off if they put many more windmills up!!!!! :(

Tell me about it!
Worst thing is every farmer and his son are putting them up. Feels like there's a new one every week appearing on the horizon but having said that one has gone up which is a great target line for our 17th.
