I was reading the post on the non-golf forum about anthems and as the darts has just started on the TV do you think players should have their own music so when they get introduced on the 1st tee their signature tune got played.

I know it will never happen and its only a bit of fun. What music would your favourite player tee off to

I can imagine Monty's might be - Whats that coming over the hill, is it a monster or given the way he's playing Smile by Lily Allen

Mine would be the Simpsons tue naturally. Alternatively it would be Lucky or We could make it happen by Fish (ex Marillion and now a talented solo artist - check out 13th Star his latest album - also a friend of mine!!!)

My theme would of course be - mission impossible, preferably the funky "edge and larry of U2" version.
It would suit my international man of mystery persona...

Whoa...Homer, you know Fish! I bumped into him at the Albert Hall, we had an interesting chat about Mark Kelly's keyboard playing on "Misplaced Childhood". I had a similar chat with Brian May at the Hammersmith Apollo about Richie Sambora (guitar with Bon Jovi)......small world.

I listen to various kinds of music so It wouldnt be the same each week, the same weekly now that would just be boring.
I can hear it now "LETS PLAY GOLF!" YAAAAYYYYYYY
Then onto the first tee to the sound of CHiPs that 80's extravaganza of biker jodpurs and helmets.

Week 2, "LETS GET READY TO RUUUMMMM, err play golf!"
Benny Hill theme, whack the living sh1t out of the ball then go comically chasing after it.

Week 3, "Brendy on the tee, play ball..err darts, err golf"
Red Hot Chili Peppers "Higher Ground" rollicking in the background.
Week 4, The poor Master Of Ceremonies has had a nervous episode so I just parade out to "Free, Alright now"

On 5 Saturday months, I would use the extra enterance morning to some sort of tribute to the oldies, louis armstrong, sinatra, elvis etc.

Anyone still reading????
A bit of selfish indungence there.

Ode to all the high handicap players!

" Even on my usual course
He can beat my best
His disciples lead him in
And he just does the rest
He's got craz-e Ping putter
Never seen him fall
That deaf, dumb and blind kid
Sure plays a hi-Spin ball "

For Sergio the theme from "The Good The Bad & The Ugly."

For me personally---Thunder Road-Bruce Springsteen-- it has one of the greatest lines ever written (personal Opinion)

"So your scared and you're thinking
that maybe we ain't that young anymore
Show a little faith theres magic in the night
YOU AIN'T A BEAUTY BUT HEY YOU'RE ALL RIGHT"
Classic!!!!

Actually are there any golf related tunes or puns. Couldn't think of any when I started this off

How could you have forgotten this one (then considering the relative ages . .)

Bob Hope/Bing Crosby - Straight down the middle

The Three Degrees "When will I see you again?" as the ball heads towards the deep rough

Carly Simon "Nobody does it better" when the attempted Mickelson-style flop shot over Hell Bunker comes off !

KLF - "Justified and Ancient" when the big group of regular seniors hit the first tee at 9am

Velvet Undergroud "I'm Waiting For The Man" when playing behind the slowest golfer ever.

ACDC "Touch Too Much" when your 6 iron approach sails merrily over the green and into the crap at the back.

If I could have a signature tune played as you step onto the 1st tee (like a boxer entering the ring), it would have to be Half Man Half Biscuit's "Joy Division Oven Gloves"
