Yesterday i had a fantastic surprise from my other half. Its my 50th this year so she has arranged a week in Dubai in April. There is a course at the resort and she has arranged the Earth course and the Majlis. As you can imagine i was very very happy man. This morning i decided to go and have a gapping session on the top half of my bag. So off i go still smiling from my great bit of news and start hitting balls. It was all going so well i was striking the ball really well (for me) and we got about halfway through the gapping when i bent down to pick up a ball when bang my back went. I suffer with my back anyway but my god i had a tiger moment. The guy was great but walking around like a labouring duck was quite embarrassing. So im sat here pilled up knowing its going to be at least a couple weeks before i will dare trying to hit a ball again. Still saved me from splashing out on some new shinies

A week in Dubai is a great incentive to recover quickly.

I dislocated my shoulder 3 weeks before my Caribbean dream adventure holiday about 10 years ago, great holiday spent in a sling so hope you recover well before.

HID suffers with a bad back every now and again. When it goes it really goes and a couple of years ago she was off work for six weeks. She is unable to dress herself and her lower spine feels like lumps of jelly. She now does stretching exercises in bed before she gets up and this seems to help and strengthen her back.

Take it easy and get some physio and hopefully you will be back out playing soon.

I have a back made from glass courtesy of a traffic accident. As GBH says, start your day with stretches in bed before you even get up. My physio said its essential to loosen up your back before it has your full weight to contend with. Only takes a few minutes.
