Tonight at 8pm on ESPN for an hour.

If you have seen this on the internet and in GM then tonight you have the chance to see Monty and Padraig talking about it. Will be good to see the holes in the flesh as sometimes pictures and words don't do them justice.

And naturally Monty puts his foot in it by slagging off Carnoustie town. That should earn him a nice welcome next time he makes it along the A92.

I do agree with Paddy about the 1st and 18th at St.Andrews being the ultimate holes to start and end an Open venue but the 18th as an actual test of golf is nothing compared to the other finishing holes around the rota.

Miised it unfortunately. Hopefully there will be a re run.

Following on from Paul's comment about the 18th at St Andrews, what do people think is the best finishing hole from a golf perspective. Personally I like the 18th at Carnoustie.

Had a go at the green in two off the whites but stuck it in the burn. Did then get up and down to three inches with a big crowd watching which made it my favourite finishing hole!!

I do think an Open finishing hole should be a tough test of par. So if you want to emulate Faldo, Jacklin etc and need a 4 for the title, then it's not a pushover.

But I did like the irony of Paddy Harrington talking about a par to win a major. Hey Monty, Winged Foot's 18th when you were in the middle of the fairway eh?

Good effort. You could have sold that to a certain Frenchman a few years back.

Didn't Harrington also make a horlicks of it in regulation before beating Garcia in a play off in 2007.

Ive only played Carnoustie, Ryl Liverpool and Ryl Lytham, but the 18th at carnoustie was my favourite. What a sight/challenge. I remember standing on the tee thinking, if I could just par this one (after bogeying the previous 8). Put one in the water, took the drop, put a 220 yd rescue wood to 10 foot, sunk the putt for par,** golfing heaven **. Hard to split how hard Carnoustie's last 6 and Lytham's last 6 are though.
