Played 18 on Thursday with an old mate. In cold blustery conditions shot 86 which equalled my best score. Was pretty chuffed for about 5 minutes, then the thoughts how it could have been lower started to creep in. Those putts which didn't drop, the hooked tee shot on the last, etc etc. By the time I'd driven home I was more p155ed off than pleased! Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the round hugely. Just that I know I can do better-I guess this is partly why we keep playing?

Snap mate i had absolutely the same thing ishot 86 then first thing i done was worked out that it should of been 80 because of stupid mistakes like the 2 duff chips the 2 3putts on the GIRS and the 1 3putt on another hole. the 36 on the par three!! etc...... I was pissed too.

This is why we have regular day jobs lads. If we went round each time we played and didnt have duffed chip shots or putts that never sank when they should of, we would be on the tele!

Its the beauty of golf, each time you play good, you should be pleased and then try to improve, dont beat ya self up about an 86.

Least you got out midweek to play unlike some of us stuck in a nice warm hospital chatting to staff nurses all day. Actually is not a bad job!!!

I'll remind you that you said that come June, July and August when the courses are at their best, greens running true and smooth as a babys bottom, 25 degrees outside and the golf course is shouting come and play me!!! ;)

Ahh but the joy of the NHS means I work flexi time so can get a day off a month to play (or 2 half days). Can also finish early so can be on the course by 5.30 with plenty of time for a round.

And the nurses coming to see me will be in their summer uniforms!!!!!!

Yep I'm talking female nurses here anywhere from 16 (for healthcare assistants through to mid 50's - boy some of these "mature" ladies look hot). In summer they all tend to wear the more traditional nurses uniform (as opposed to tops and trousers)

Bring it on!! The wife keeps asking to meet me for lunch but I'll get such a slap. Its wall to wall eye candy at lunchtimes.

Fortunately she is my world and there would be nothing in my life without her so I'm more than happy just to admire the view
