The Taylor Made Monza Spider.

I tried it out on Saturday much to the merriment of my regular 4 ball. Best comment I got was that it looked like something from the 4th form metalwork project.

I didn't have my best day on the greens but I think that stemmed more from trying to hole everything to keep the comments to a minimum and therfore was a bit over zealous on some approaches. Did manage to hole tow or three test 3-4 footers and made a couple from 10 feet.

I tried it out on my own yesterday and to be fair it putted really well on bumpy greens (hadn't been cut since Captains Day on Sunday) which were also slowish. I didn't keep stats but reckon there were 4 or 5 single putt greens (including a speedy 8 footer downhill for par on one hole) and can only recall one three putt.

Putts have a good roll thanks to the AGSI face. The only thing I don't like about it compared to my odyssey two ball is the alignment aid which doesn't help a nervy putter like me as much on those short one and two footers. Overall though I think it is a great putter and it is staying in my bag for the foreseeable future. I am getting more confident with it (thanks to regular sessions on the practice green) and think it will really come into its own

As an aside, I don't think had it not been a welcome gift from GM that I would necessarily have bought it although it kept finding its way into my hands at every golf store I visited so maybe fate was telling me something.

If the looks of the Spider aren't your cup of tea I can recommend the Odyssey white hot sabre tooth. I managed to make 6 out 6 eight footers on a proper green when trying it out!!!

Got one and love it on 10 foot plus putts, ball rolls straight away and seems to get close when I remember not to stab at the ball!

Inside 3 foot I'm a bit less confident but that might be due to an 18 hole horror show a couple of weeks ago, played just over a week ago and got plenty close which is unusual for me.

Get plenty of stick when I take it out and the headcover is horrible but overall I fell it's a quality piece of kit that feels good in my hands and that's half the battle with putting if you ask me

Have to agree with everything said here.
I've had one of these for a good few months now, and it has definately made a positive difference to my putting.

Although previously I hadn't changed putters from something I had over 10 years ago, so it was a big difference.

I thought it looked pretty cool myself, but for people who don't like the looks, I'd say at least give it a try, you may be suprised.
