Not sure if anyone seen this in the Sun today (Scottish version) but they were going on about how loud some new drivers are and that they could make players go deaf!!!!

I said last year the my Cobra LD F-speed gave me sore ears and I am not surprised that someone has developed hearing problems with a Cobra. I was surprised that the Ping G10 came out worst as I changed to a G10 and love the sound it makes.


It was suggested that earplugs whould be worn if using one of these. Could you imagine someone getting skelped with a ball that they never heard the FORE being shouted???

I can see a new line of compo claims beginning.
Suing the club manufacturer for causing deafness/hearing loss to its users.

I know the right Irish solicitors to approach who have had great experience in this area having sued the Irish Army over the past number of years as a result of soldiers suffering hearing loss as a result of using Guns.

JuniorCaptain--understand your comment-but we spend a shedload of cash settling these claims. A number of solicitor firms received significant costs as a result.

Our army dont get involved in wars--they do a lot of training and UN peace keeping.

We now have the silly sight of soldiers at formal cermonies wearing ear defenders whilst firing their guns in salute.

I think that it just highlights the fact that people will sue for anything these days. They're just taking the justice system for a ride because they can.

The bigger problem is the fact that our Judges awarded the first couples of claimants large awards which resulted in the claims in teh pipeline being settled for significant sums.

I lay the blame for the compo culture directly at the feet of the Judges--if they had the balls to throw out frivolous and unsubstantiated claims we would have been better off.

As i handle claims for a large irish insurers i have an interest. Honest claimants andgenuine accident victims deserve compensation but the chancers should be chucked out of court.

The army provide ear defenders, if you dont use them you are scuppered in a claim. I came out of the army taller,fitter and stronger than when i went in, I think I will sue!

when I came out of the navy I was older than when I went in - do I have a claim?
