Sitting here with my lap-top and heard the sound of another leaf being shed by the Poinsetta! "Guaranteed to last til Christmas" - yeah right - all that will be left is the root at this rate !!

One of those traditions we succumb to every year though so it's kind of nice they haven't been GMd to last longer

What are your sounds of the festive period and traditions you couldn't ever shed?!

The chaos of Tesco's on the last proper day before Chrimbo.

Ours got it soo wrong today.
I got in there at 7.30 to get the last few bits. The car park was full, barely a trolley in sight, shop heaving and hardly any staff. The shelves were emptying rapidly, they only had half the tills open and the queues were 6-7 deep. Fruit and veg was empty and the poor girl trying to refil shelves couldn't keep up.

Someone messed up the staffing levels big time....

Oh and the 'ktschhhh' of a tin of lager being opened works pretty well for me too!

The noise of my three daughters when they go to bed on Christmas eve, all the chatting, laughing and running between bedrooms, they are awake for ages.....I love it :D

Apart from the rumble of the children's empty stomachs...... the only sound I hear at Christmas is last years presents breaking down as the warrenty runs out

I quite like Christmas carols

sound........................sleigh bells, I go out after dark and shake them for my wee boy (without him knowing its me of course), it's magical for all of us.

Smell...........................Tangerines, and a Cragenmore on Christmas day:)
