Anyone else seen the latest putting idea from Cleveland? The Smart Square Putter.

Seems plausible, what does anyone else think of the idea?

The narrator in the video needs a similar aid to line his head up with the vertical axis.

I guess it might work better than the two ball, but it won't sell any thing like as many, as it's a me too product.

not the game changer it claims to be. the two ball would have been just that for many people.

even though it looks slicker than a 2 ball, it is somehow uglier!

Don't think alignment aids should be allowed on putters (or balls) but the theory makes sense. Squares allow the player to use either set of lines (parallel or perpendicular to hole) to line up - some players find it easier to use one than the other. May make a small improvement for a player, but not as much as spending regular time on the practice green ;)

Doesn't seem like 'revolutionary technology' just to put a couple of square shapes on top of a putter... surely someone's done that before?

It is very similar to the two ball putters, but I can see the rationale behind why a square maybe better. Before deciding one way or the other I'd have to give one go.

I am waiting for a full geographical fitting service. I'm holding out for the dodecahedron being a better design, especially the new adjustable ones that allow your top line shape to be moved (prior to starting of course) in case conditions dictate a different model or outline

I think its a cracking concept and one that would help a lot of golfers. Anything that helps you line up square to target gets the thumbs up from me.:thup::thup:

I also think this looks decent. So many folk are fans of the 2 ball and I think the 2 squares on here should work well for quite a few players. As putting is such a big part of the game I think plenty of folk will try it just to see if it knocks 1 stroke off their rounds. Not sure why it is being knocked really.

I think people are having a pop as its just an update of the two ball idea. they are both good ideas. albeit, nothing mind blowing.

The humble square Eh, who'd of thought it.

Alignment aids on putters are all well and good and obviously help when setting up, but then again so does a simple line on the ball.

The hard work starts when you take the putter away and your attempting to return it back square to the target line.
once that putter is moving that alignment aid no use whatsoever. A good stroke and a Putter that suits and feels balanced is Whats required.

Its a loada rubbish!! :D:D:D

Certainly looks a 'new take' on the 2-ball.

Dave Pelz might be consulting his lawyers! Or has the (1986) patent run out? Or is it sufficiently different that it's not a clash!

Looks ok i suppose not as ugly as some.
Anyone know why they still put thin grips on all new putters and not give you a choice of a fatter grip.
