I am really excited that the other working Lancaster bomber is now on the way over from Canada. For me this us probably going to be my only opportunity to see two of these beautiful aircraft flying together. Luckily I work near Conningsby so may get a few chances to see them in the air. Should be here in the next few days

BoB flight is truely amazing - flew in the lancaster when it was doing RIAT - such a thrill - bloody noisy inside

Dad flew Lancasters so will be doing my best to attend one of the 'shows' they'll be attending this year... Believe one chap has paid a fair few quid to be part of the crew for the trip over...

I plan on doing plenty of trips over to our lincoln office as I have to drive right by the conningsby runway

I've seen the current one a few times locally going over my house or the golf course. What a fantastic and iconic sight and two together will be even better
Had it fly over my house as well, quite low so assuming it was going to land at Farnborough. Just an amazing sight, and the noise of the engines was something else.

Saw a tv programme the other day about the Dambusters. Anyone that flew in a Lancaster was incredibly brave. They interviewed the chap that released the bomb, and he said they made 10 passes before he let the bomb go. He said his mates were giving him a load of stick to get rid of it sooner.;)

Yes, I have spend a number of hours in the bar there. Had some customers in Shannon and Limerick.

I used to work for a co thats HQ was in the free zone in Shannon, so spent a fair bit of time there, stayed in Limerick too, thats an experience for a southern softie! Loved it!

Newfoundland to Shannon is nearly 2000 miles, which while inside its range, is a hell of a long flight

More likely to go north via Greenland and Iceland and down over Scotland I reckon

Be great to see them together

As with the RedArrows it will be via Greenland and Iceland air routes then to SaxaVord

Lands on Friday, in maintenance for a few days, a week training with the BBMF (hopefully will see it a few times then) followed by a month or so of apoearances as part of the BBFM (Full details online). Flypasts at Peterborough and Stamford in mid/end August that should pass my house and the golf club. One of those is presidents day and last year the lancaster flew over so low you could see the pilot waving. Whole course stopped

I got tickets for East Kirkby on 7th Sept when not only Just Jane Lancaster be taxiing down the field the other 2 will be doing a flyby at the same time. 3 Lancasters in one photo for first time since god knows when and once in a lifetime opportunity. Can't wait. image.jpg

Just watch out for road closures, played with some lads from the base tonight and they said there are loads of road closures for the whole time it is here.

I think that's going to be the best day of the whole tour, I hope they get just Jane in the air next year they are doing a brilliant job at East Kirkby.

We get the BoB flypast every year down here for the Bournemouth air show, be great if both Lancs were to come down. The Vulcan is due again this year too.
