Well Scotlands most utterly exclusive and overly priced Golf club has been put on hold untill a Buyer can be found .

I have no sympathy for the Owners who don't live within the vincinty nor have they realised of how such a serious errors they have made .
That's what happens when you have Foregin ownership that take over land and create a course and price well out of the reach of the joe public . Basically don't give 2fk's ethier .

I find it ironic that none of the Golf mags are willing to question the owners of why they have the right to price out the local Golfer and charge OTT fee's .
Loch lomond ain't the Hamptons nor is it Beverly hills nor is it Augusta sadly the Owners seem to think they are ..

IMO the mags should be more critical of bad ownership

Could we have a Golf Monthly Forum buy out. I'll start of the kitty with £100 donation, who else is in?

If they don't want anyone on their course, that's up to them, no problem, but the European tour should not play there. They are meant to be promoting the game, and growing it, and I can't see how that is best acheived by holding flag ship events on courses closed to the public.

Don't agree. It is their course and they have but millions into it and can operate it on whatever business model they wish. If they want exclusivity and think they can sustain the venue on that basis then fine, get on with it. There are plenty of other courses about for the likes of you and me to play. I dare say I couldn't get a room at Cameron House up the road within my price bracket either but I don't see that the operators are doing anything wrong there either.

£50.00 a round including ham, egg and chips and spotted dick for pudding and their financial woes would be over.

so long as it was real spotted dick, made with suet (not those crappy currant sponges!) and served covered with brown sugar with butter melting over it all.

Loch Lomond's owners can do what they like, charge what they like and only let in whoever they want to let it. They are not obliged to make the course available to us mere mortals for £50 a round. It's a free country.

Why should the "Owners live in the vicinity" ? Lots of football club owners live in different countries from their teams.

Are you going to rant at Muirfield for not letting us on there either or the fact that ladies can't play there very often?
