Incident this morning at our club, 58 year old, former 7 times club champion arrives at the club this morning for his usual game, fast players so they like out early. Arrives at 7.15am, pulls up in the car park and a guy knocks on his window asks him to help his mother who has fallen over, as the guy goes to,get out of the car to help, the guy slammed the door shut on him injuring his leg and hand. while another who had been hiding behind wheelie bins jumped out, opened the boot and stole his clubs and ran off. The guy holding the door shut then proceeded to punch the old fella about the head before running off.:angry:
The guy is ok, bit bruised and shaken but his clubs are gone and a mizuno tour bag with seves autograph on it.

Sad sad sad. Unbelievable what some wee neds will do these days

is there no cctv in the car park?
must say it sounds very premeditated ,someone has obviously been watching the goings on at the course.
hope the chap is ok and that they get the scum that did this.

Utter scumbags!

But of course with most of us carrying around a couple of grand's worth of gear then I guess we need to have our wits about us more and more.

It's just a shame that this is the case :angry::angry:

I don't think there is CCTV, CCTV costs money and most golf clubs don't have the spare cash these days. even if there was CCTV its largely worse than useless IMO, if they put a hood up, they could be 90% of the population. Plus it was still dark.

Keep an eye on Gumtree/Ebay/Cash Converters locally and they might turn up. They may not be the brightest when it comes to shifting the stolen gear.

They did head that way but he's not really sure as it was dark. A few of th other boys went looking in their cars but the wee neds were gone.

The theft alone is bad enough, to me the need to beat the old boy deserves an eye for and eye so to speak.

Exactly my thoughts, theft is one thing but beating an old fella is a different league of scumbag. I hope they get caught but sadly even if they do they won't get the punishment they deserve.

I'd big Whacker them all over the car park if I got hold of them.

That's the frustrating thing, they never get caught though.
