Played today with a good friend of mine just the two of us for unbelievably the first time.

Normal start really bogey par bogey bogey par par bogey bogey par 21 points 40 shots bloody good front nine. I then went par, par, par, par, par, double bogey, birdie, par, par for a one over back nine 35 shots 24 points. Total 75 par 69.

I had no idea what kind of score I was on, as I have said we had not ever played just the two of us and conversation just took over and the golf was honestly a second thought.

I honestly cant believe it, I have really worked hard on my game this year as my handicap changes show but to shoot 6 over gross is just a level of golf I have never dreamed of. Now I find myself thinking about what I could achieve in the game. I always thought I could maybe get to around 11/12 but to play to 6 and know I left 3 shots and a few putts out there has made me believe maybe just maybe I could become a single finger golfer in the future.

Or maybe I just had my day in the sun  Its a weird bloody game.

now for people to call you a bandit as you play off 15...... congrats fella, that's some good shooting!!

Nice shooting mate.
Maybe it had something to do with the more relaxed approach due to the good Compony. Or like you say maybe it was just your day. Hope it continues for you.

Very nice shooting.

there is definitely something to be said for good company and a relaxed game to bring the best out of folks.

get out there and do it again fast !!

great scoring very well played.

Possibly Does highlight how much a mental game this is, once you start trying, adding scores up and thinking if i do this this and this on the next few holes i'll be on for this. Rather than playing without a care and hey presto youve shot a PB.

I honestly have never felt that relaxed on the course, the company definitely helped.

Heres hoping the trend continues.

I love reading these 'killed it' threads. Very uplifting and makes me look forward even more so to my next round.

Reckon the relaxed company helped each hole roll into one. Get out with him again!

Well played Sire.

Well played Sire.

It's always encouraging to read about people who have one of those days. If I just keep working on my game I'm sure it'll happen to me one day. Well played sir.
