The right bicep and left elbow

I have been improving quite a bit recently with my ball striking, but often my desire to keep my right bicep close to my rib cage feels very unnatural.

I also make a real effort to keep my left elbow locked through my takeaway and through swing. I do think that this is adding tension to my swing. It is not affecting distance, but sometimes leads to me thinning the ball.

Don't get me wrong it can occasionally produce beautiful strikes (about 70 percent of the time)(well maybe half :D), but i would appreciate any advice to help me feel a little looser through the ball.

Thanks

I'm trying to do exactly the same thing, keep my right elbow tucked in to the waist and keep the left bicep snug against the chest on the down swing.

I know what you mean about it feeling stiff and tense, sometimes it feels almost mechanical, so what I find heps me, it's taking some getting used to is keep my wrists cocked or fully hinged and delaying striking the ball, it takes my mind off what I doing with my arms and with creating that lag, you don't have to swing as hard or fast to generate club head speed and thus send the ball the same distance.

I will give that a try down the range tonight.

I need to try something as after a few holes a start to feel weak in my left elbow from tensing my arm.

Definitely not right
