Absolutely gripping new series on Ch4 with 2nd episode just broadcast.

If you are not watching it - do yourself a big favour and getting catching up. If you watched Twin Peaks back in the day then you'll understand that you don't need to understand what the heck is going on to be gripped. And don't be put off by the subtitles - your brain soon gets used to watching and reading. You have just got to watch - then watch again as you say to yourself - 'WHAT!!??? - what was that? - or wooooa - what happened there?

Subtitles is 100% what put me off. I am a lazy TV watcher, reading subs is too much for me and my inadequate brain. So its good though?! i might give it a try on demand then...

Its like Hannibal, i have started watching that after i banked about 6 episodes, its quite hard work but will stick with it for a few more..

Episode 2 - I haven't a clue what's going on or where this is going (and I'm not going to bother trying to guess) - but it is great :)

Each episode is the story of someone who's come back from the dead, last week was that twin girl, this week was the guy who was gonna get married. They will obviously tie in together at some point though I imagine, probably that creepy young boy is the key.

I can't cope with subtitles, probably because I don't always watch every second but keep up with the plot by listening to the dialogue.

Some of the finest films ever made are subtitled mate, you're missing out on a whole genre of exceptional tv viewing ;)

I'd agree with that.......

'Das Boat' anyone......plus there have been some outstanding WW11 movies from Holland/Belgium etc and don't get me started on the Chinese/Korean movies, some of them are so good that Hollywood tries a remake but its never as good.
i.e 'Nikita' and 'The girl with the dragon tattoo'..........

there are hundreds but best watched via recommendation

That bit I'm getting (as the episodes are titled after the character). But that's about it. We can see connections forming. For example young Lena and Simon in the photo in the bar. But what was that about Lena's room getting smashed up and Camille being all innocent - or was it Camille? And the guys up in the hills - brothers? I'm thinking the younger? one has returned. And was the otehr brotehr the bar manager being question over the attack in the underpass? And what's with the dam and the black water in the sink, and...and...and...loving it. And it's clearly not just the bus - as Simon disappeared ten years before and the bus crash was four. And I'm not trying to understand Mr Costas and the woman tied up in his house when he set it on fire and then no bodies were found. And yes - Victor....

...and one of my favourite films - Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain (aka Amelie). Starring the absolutely fabulous, gorgeous and sexy Audrey Tautou  You may know her from the exquisitely, sublime Chanel No5 ad of a few years ago (possibly best ad ever?) Oh - her eyes...

Don't think I've seen Amelie yet although it's been on my list for a long time.
Them Frenchies sure know how to make a fine film.
Irreversible anyone? Not for the regular cinema go-er but a mighty fine flick.

hmmm
boy sees attractive girl on train....
boy squeezes behind her on train stopping long enough to smell her and stare at her in reflection...
Girl gets hot and bothered trying to go to sleep...
boy stands outside her train carriage door listening to her in bed...
boy goes into next compartment and puts head on wood panel through wall from girls head...
girl takes photographs at pier and reviewing them sees image of boy staring at her again...
girl goes to train station and boy comes up behind her and without talking starts molesting her...

...is that an accurate assessment for the prosecution M'lud

now watch it again..............

Loving the returned, very strange and weird. The boy victor really gives me the creeps! So many plot lines to come together like the water dropping and brown water gurgling in the sinks!!

If subtitles put you off you really do get used to it very quickly. You are also missing out on some top notch programmes, mainly on bbc4. My wife got us started by watching the killing, I was all like no chance but after the first episode was hooked and have since watched all the others like spiral, borgen, the bridge and arnie Dahl.

Das boat is on my lovefilm list so hope it comes soon!

Ps to those who watched the bridge and borgen the new series start later in the year.

And what's with the 'young lady' across the landing from the nurse and Victor - peering through her door peephole There's more to her than meets the eye methinks - and there is plenty of that...

Another recommendation from me.
Somehow manages to be slow - in a good way - but also loads happens per episode.
It's in my record list to ensure it doesn't get missed.

After people recommending this, I watched the first episode last night, I found it very weird but very good, ain't got a clue what is going on and I may never figure it out.
