Hello everyone,

Haven't been on the site in a few months, I've been busy playing golf, working on a new swing and preparing for my forthcoming wedding!

I'm sure all the old names are on here and a few new ones.

Anyway, this weekend my missus is showjumping at stoneleigh (nr. coventry) any one know a decent course near there where I can get a round in on saturday?

Many Thanks

well after a couple of months of back peddling i'm finally on the right track and my whole game is now moving forward.

I've ditched the driver (with exceptional results) i'm now using my rescue club off the tee and hitting approc 8/10 fairways. Whilst not being the longest off the tee i'm no longer playing my second shot from behind a tree.

Looking to purchase a new 5wood and start hitting that off the tee to get me a few more yards so i'll keep you posted on how that goes.

I too have ditched the driver, not all together, just leave it in the bag and play my 3 wood as often as I can. I am trying to get the 3 wood cracked and this seems to be working a treat.

GB72 that is me mate... only 3 weeks now.

Tony, i've got a mate who mocks me for not using a driver yet every other hole he has to play his second shot sideways. Just doesnt make sense to me.

Not carried my driver the last couple of rounds I have played and shot my two best scores.

3 wood off the tee for me.

Hello Minty, I'm a newbie since you were last here - have noticed your name mentioned a few times.

GB72 i'll let you know mate, looking to get 2 or 3 rounds in.

Spoff, nice to meet u mate. I think using a driver requires a different type of swing and i struggle keeping mine as it is. I'm sure it changes every round.

Just sold my Nike driver on ebay and will now be buying a 5 wood.

And then the 5w will go well, and you will think, well, if I can hit the 5w, maybe I should try a 3w, and before you know it, you will be looking for a new driver.
