We need better team songs. I mean, since 1966, the two best performances by an England team were the 1990 World Cup and the 1996 Euros.

1990 - World in Motion by New Order.
1996 - Football's coming home - Baddiel, Skinner and the Lightning Seeds.

Fix that and the on-pitch stuff will come naturally.

And for the Scots out there, yes we all remember "Ally's Tartan Army" in 1978 which really proves the point.

Can't disagree with that logic!

Still get the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end every time I hear 3 lions. That was such a great summer (until we were knocked out! :D) The first proper tournament I fully remember.

utter tosh BEST song we ever had was WORLD CUP WILLY and the best mascot.

I knew Wimbledon's physio on that team, the first female physio in the league, Caroline Brouwer. She used to follow Leatherhead in the glory years of the 70s. She could drink for England.

Reckon the biggest common factor in those two tournaments was home advantage.

Something we are highly unlikely to have for a while yet!!

Caroline's "unofficial profession" with Leatherhead was "Crossbar painter". She was a legend. Saw her knock seven bells of **** out of a Merthyr Tydfil fan down at Fetcham Grove in an F.A.Cup tie once.
