According to press reports tonight.

Seems that things aint going well with a £14m loss over the last 13 months.

Odd that they are paying massive wages in a Mickey Mouse league, they could be paying out at the most half of what they are currently paying their playing staff (£7.5m per annum) and still walk the leagues they have been in over the last year.

I wonder why they have been asked to take a pay cut......it couldn't be happening again, could it?? :smirk:

They and this would be a joke if it wasn't serious. Bragging about going to go unbeaten all season and something not that difficult to achieve in Scottish Div1 (the Scottish 3rd division let's not forget) if you are bringing players in way beyond your means - which they clearly are. Verging on a scandal that - thinking they can get away with and all too ready to play the 'they've all got it in for us' card if pulled up on it,

Wee Ally will still be looking to add to the squad before the window closes

I believe he's taken a 50% pay cut?

If I was a fan I'd be raging about the (continued) horrendous mismanagement of the club. You could walk the league they're in with a £600k wage bill never mind a £6m one!

Ally was on £800k alone before his 50% pay cut, more than Lennon at Celtic last season.

Really!? I just can't understand why the club have/are agreeing to pay on these levels?

The people paying these salaries were also paying themselves bonuses, awarding themselves shares etc.

Lots of folk with their snouts in the trough and the fans getting shafted.

feels wrong saying this but I almost feel sorry for the rangers fans the way things have gone the last few years. (I'm not a Celtic fan either for full disclosure).

What happens if the players don't take the pay cuts? I guess they can't change the terms of the contracts so they're stuck paying the wages out of the money that isn't coming in to the club!?

interestingly the requested pay cut is in the middle of the transfer window, as the players have said no (they have a contract so fair enough) then the only other way to reduce the weekly payroll is to sell a few players or loan/free transfer a couple

I would feel bad, but Ranger's as a club their fans included bragged and bragged about their success year on year, and all that success including the 10 successive league titles was gotten with false money that was never theirs to begin with, so this is payback time for all that.

I'm not a Celtic fan either

It's just as well you don't live in Glasgow!! Rangers managed 9 titles in a row, NOT 10. That is a VERY significant detail where I come from and getting it wrong could land you in a spot of bother!! :D

This has been on the cards for quite a while.
If you examine the credentials of the biggest shareholders it is hardly a surprise.
Their director puppets running the club seem to be clueless and there is a serious risk of them going bust before the end of the season.

Paying a Manager of McCoist's ability £800,000k a year is totally crazy.

Never ever thought I would say this but I feel really sorry for the core of their 50,000 loyal supporters.

Will start this by saying I am a rangers fan.

The players were in their rights to reject the pay cuts, they have a contract after all.

The people who have screwed the club over is the ones who bought into the club to ''save it'', they have taken out huge pay packets+ bonuses. They were also the people that thought it would be a good idea to bring players in that were on 8k a week. How on earth can any club in the first division afford to pay that sort of money, people were saying home ticked sales would help but they forgot that most of them were season tickets and the money for that already went in Greens back pocket.

Could you explain what you mean by false money that was never theirs please?

Don't you just love football threads...

I wonder how many of these vastly over rated and over paid players would have actually pulled on the jersey if the current predicament had not come to pass ?

It's all down to greed, on so many levels.

Time will tell.

Well seemingly for Daly it was the challenge and not the money that took him there......
