I recently decided that I fancied a new set of irons, currently using the 2011 taylormade tp cb forged I fancied something a little sleeker..... With a lower launch.

Well a month in and I'm screwed if I can find anything that out performs what I'm currently using.

Razr x forged 2012 PX 6.0 - lovely club and a set I've always wanted, but the PX6.0 is a touch too stiff and consistency isn't what I'd hoped. Still urging to try a px5.5 version but the one I brought are going.

S56/s300 , one of the nicest clubs I've hit,but all shots seems powerless and they were at least a club back on the tm's dispute finding the middle of the club.

S55 - not as nice as the s56" quickly dismissed

Mp63/s300 - very nice and complete with the thinner top line these seem to launch and fly slightly lower than the cb's, but until I get them on the trackman the jury is out... A bad swing is a bad swing, hit the 5i and 7i and both seems to be able the same as the tm's, but nothing about them stood out and made me want to buy,

the 63's were the best of what I've tried, but not quite he sure it's enough to warrant a change, anything else I should consider. Currently all that's left on the short list is ap2, new tp mc's Cally x forged 2013 or Cleveland cb's, the outsider is fg62 but I feel these May be asking a bit much from the swing

Nike cb combos. Seriously, give them a try, they are lovely. I've got some!

Other than that, be happy with what you have, and be happy! While accepting you play an ugly set of golf clubs, and should invest in head covers to hide them, whilst wearing a false beard and ginger wig combo.

So whats the point in changeing

I want something that launches a little lower as my course is on the downs wind can be a b*****, I'm also interested to see what's moved on in three years! as it stands I'm surprised to find that there's not a lot going on that isn't already happening in my bag

Being serious, the nikes are good bats. You might be surprised if you can look past the big swoosh.

Recently went with a friend who was trying out new irons so being the nosey, inquisitive person I am I went along with him and tried them all out as well. When he asked which ones I preferred out of them the only answer I could give him was that none felt or performed any better than what I already had.
I'm not sure the technology in irons has progressed very far at all in the last few years, as much as the manufacturers would want you to believe it has, and it's still the swing on the ball that has the greatest influence on where it goes.
If you want a lower ball flight into the wind then learn how to put that shot into your game with your current set?
