Like many on on here I have been struck with the dreaded man flu and felt like crap all over Xmas but I can take one positive from it.....

I have not had a cigarette since Xmas eve. Now to see whether I can keep it up once I am back to full health

sometimes cold turkey isnt always the best option, i used to smoke a lot, however now i smoke maybe a couple of cigs a week which is basically nothing. maybe just designate smoking to the course and try and get rid of the habit little by little

good luck!

I had the bug a couple of weeks back .I have never felt so ill for many a year still recovered about a week before Christmas so had a good time this year for a change!! With regards to the cigs my dear Mum caught a bad bout of Flu a couple of years ago and she has smoked around 10-15 a day for 40 years but the bug put her off them for a couple of weeks and she quit permanantly. My advice is if you want to quit then keep it up and go cold Turkey as once you have 1 and get the taste back it won't be long before it becomes a habit again. Best of luck it's not easy!!!

My father had a real bad dose of the 'flu way back in the 60s when he used to smoke. Whilst he was ill the doctor prescribed medicine 'till he improved. He never yearned for a cigarette the whole time he was on the medication and told the doctor this and jokingly asked the doc if he could have more medicine. The doctor explained that it would be harder to kick the habit he would develop if he was prescribed more morphine!

Had flu at the start of December, between not eating and sweating through fever's I list just under a stone in 2 weeks, just got to work out how to catch it again :D
