Hi guys,

What would make a clubhouse perfect? Both members, and guest.

I'm not interested in course or training suggestions, more about the clubhouse facilities, both indoor and outdoor.

Parking spaces, clubhouse layout, paths to the golfcourse and training area, locker room, bath and toilet, relaxing areas, wifi/tv placements, cafe/restaurant etc.

Hope some of you have some experiences or ideas you would like to share!

Surely, but i'm open to hear everyones opinion! what do you think is missing from your own club? or some of those you've visited.

And more important what would define a perfect clubhouse? is it large rooms, nice bar/restaurant, or maybe you just like to keep it classy and simple?

Homely & friendly ,, definatly not a seperate members bar , bar staff that are friendly & know their job . good food at a reasonable price , cozy warm & golf on the tele

In the locker rooms , decent showers with adjustable settings .. not this push button one ..

My club house is an old big victorian house. So plenty of rooms. Big lounge/bar with an open fire, plus sky TV. function room with a stage. Resturant, snooker room with 2 tables. Big locker room, good changing room/showers. Could do with a bit more parking but has a very long drive so not to much of a problem. Think thats about it.

My club bar upstairs
Prefer if had downstairs Spike Bar , with views down the course
A seperate games room for the juniors, they deserve a break, gota encourage them, not persecute them as some oldies do

Actually, if you just took the clubhouse from Archerfield, which Ive been Lucky enough to play, then that would be PERFECT
Changing rooms with Plasmas ....... superb

Perfect Clubhouse:

No TV's of any kind anywhere except in the sports lounge. Only sport to be shown, preferably golf
Classroom for lessons on etiquette, manners, how to dress properly etc.
Excellent bitter
Good wine list
Nice restaurant with views of the course
Gorgeous, playful, flirty waitresses and bar staff
Uniforms for above in one size too small
Spike bar
Members bar
Lounge
Drying Room
Wooden lockers
Helpful pro
Perfect roast beef
home made Yorkshire puddings
Plenty of comfy sofas
Proper dress code
balcony with perfect view of 18th green
Snooker room
Smoking room with humidor
Cards room
Sauna
Japanese Bath
Club cleaning service
Shoe cleaning service
Bouncy castle
Bedrooms for "tired" members

I could go on.....

I agree.Best clubhouse I've been in in The UK.Friendly, excellent bar with lots of TV's showing different sports, a cracking balcony looking over both the 18th greens, the changing rooms are muckle with a gentleman happy to clean your shoes, and showers that are excellent. The one complaint I might have is the club shop is too good, lots of very nice clobber, but feckin pricey!
If I had the moolah, I'd join the morra.

Yep, cudnt agree more
When I went, I thought, gotta buy something, gotta buy something
Bought a strokesaver, which is class
And, I tried on a shirt, thought really nice...........£79.00 Polo shirt OUCH.....!!....But just paid as if, yeah, no probs, thats my normal price range........lol

The whole set up there is Amazing, from the driving range with pyramids of Titlests stacked up for you, to the chipping area with the same balls waiting, superb balcony looking over both 18th holes of the 2 courses, changing rooms...........Could go on forever.
Now wheres that lottery ticket.........

A house on the surrounding estate wouldnt be Too Bad either

I actually think the range could be better, for that kind of place I'd be expecting mini-greens with flags and lasered distances from each 'bay'.The chipping areas are good, and the putting green is OK.

As for the houses, I think they're rank.East Lothian council demanded they be built in that style, against the express wishes of the owner, they look totally out of place.the next tranche of houses on the sea side of the estate will be but nicer individual builds. The house is lovely, as is the boat house and the lodges are decent, but Marine Villa is the bee's knees.

Next door Rennaissance club house is temp but also nice, and as a wee tangent, they've seeded the three holes by the sea.Once they are in play that course will be something extra special.

Im not from the area, so dont know the history of the estate surrounding, but theyre a bit nicer than those surrounding my course.
I was just wowed by the whole set up, though Ive not played a huge amount of Top UK courses, this place just seemed like golfing paradise.

As for the neighbouring Rennaissance Club. Ive never Played, but Ive got friends that have, courtesy of a local Prem League footballer who has membership.
Those gates are very Imposing on the drive past.
And the course Pics on website, show a great looking course.
But there are lots of other very good courses in that area too.
A real great golfing area.

Quite happy with the Vale of Leven to be honest - apart from the car park which can fill quickly. A trolley shed for push/ pull trolleys would be good - the old one bit the dust due to wind this winter

Decently furnished bar, separate dining area, function room with stage, food is of a great standard. Refurbed locker rooms - the gents is excellent compared to others I've experienced. Haven't seen the Ladies, Seniors or Juniors but they are of the same standard I believe. As a fair few juniors aren't overly tall, they have lockers which they can slide their bags into horizontally rather than wrestling with a bag at head height. Juniors have their own clubhouse room with pool table and TV.

More than happy for what I pay.

So essentially Snelly, you want a London members' club placed next to a golf course? RAC club might be nice in that case. I'm in.

Fixed that for ya Snelly

Is the above list a selection of all those top clubhouses that you have frequented put together, or is there such a one that exists?
