I just about recall the England v Brazil game at the World Cup in 1970 which pitted Pele against Bobby Moore. Two giants of the game who played it in the manner of two humble men with the greatest respect for one another.

Sportsmanship, and pure class, do not come any better.

A sad day for anyone who loves the beautiful game.4E6EADC9-AFFE-42EE-9BA4-029741AF0313.jpeg

Pele and the Brazil World cup team of 1970 the best ever.
Sometimes the word "Legend" is over used, not in the name of "Pele".
Thankyou for the greatest football ever seen in a world cup.

Now I know why he was called Pele and not Edson.
His mispronunciation of a Vasco player (Bile) caused the name to stick.
He was supposed to be named after Thomas Edison, but it was spelt wrong.

A caretaker manager of England called him Peely.
That was Joe Mercer and possibly disrespectfully.
