The Open practise days.

I'm sure there will be something on the open website, also when you get there you'll see a huge board with the tee times of players. Be aware that sometimes players just turn up and play. This happened at lytham last year, I was about to leave the course then noticed Westwood and Donald had just turned up and were teeing off on the 1st.

Also be aware that some of the big names will not practice either as also in Lytham last year. Really disappointing not to see the big names, we only saw Mcilroy, Gmac and the rest were also ran's who had little or no chance. Oh that included Mcilroy.

Times are not normally allocated until very close to the actual day.

Pro-Am schedule is normally settled and published earlier.

Players write their name down on the tee-time sheet, either the day before, or, as BMK said, they may just turn up and off they go. The Open website usually publishes the known tee times - I think it's either the night before, or early morning on the day. I think that the bigger names tend to go out early to avoid the crowds - Tiger goes out around 6 a.m., before the course is even open to the public.

Hope that your lads get to see some of their heroes - the practice range is a good place to spend some time as well.

I've never known a pro-am for the Open:confused:

Practice days are THE best days to go especially the Wednesday as everyone (never heard of someone not practicing the day before the Open)

there will be a practice tee time list published and given out free on each day

You can actually interact with some of the players on the practice days. They are so much more relaxed and some of them really put on a display for the crowds. Just keep checking the boards and buy a radio to get real time info from the Open Championship radio which updates you all the time. Practice days are mint!
