The Open - Camping

Morning. I've left it very late as per usual but decided to go up to St Andrews for The Open this week. Going to head up late Thursday from the midlands and be there ready for the start of play on Friday. I'm wondering if anyone nearby knows where the best campsite is or maybe one just off the beaten track that might have space?

Any info would be hugely appreciated. I've had a look online but a few of the places have said no advance bookings on tents.

I camped on the site in 2010 and it was the first and last time I will do that as the weather was extreme at times. The telly and a few beers beckons Sunday.

I camped in 2010 just outside Strathkiness at Nydie Campsite. not far at all and a nice site

I glamped once for the Open in Scotland, seemed a good idea and made it feel quite special.

3 days of rain and midges ensured I will never Glamp again.

55" HD TV with a 7.1 system and a full fridge is the only way now, caveat is I still do the occasional practice day when invited.
