Anyone thinking of Going..

I'm Maybe thinking of heading over on the Friday as I've found over recent years it's just a bit more Laid Back than the weekend which is just Bedlam.

Are you going, if so what day etc..

Tuesday and Thursday for me, wifey and my dad. Plus getting a child ticket for Scarlett as well, not too sure how a 16 month old will like a day out at the golf, she may spend the day with her nana.

I fancy the Friday too Dave, think there may be 4 of us going

I'll be going on the Friday, possibly the Thursday too. This will be my 4th Open Championship at Birkdale, I absolutely love the place.

How easy is Birkdale to get to by train from the likes of Warrington or Haydock? Thinking options of affordable hotels

certainly there is a metro rail station near Hillside, there is a train to Southport from Manchester, which would probably go through Wigan.

It's looking like Friday is the Day then :)
What's the plan,have we got a meeting point? :D

I'm thinking about getting the train up there early morning, maybe get to the Practice ground, take in a few early Holes. Get stuck in at the Open Arms then start Uncontrollably Shouting BEEEEEEF!!!

Who's In??? ;)

Saturday for me, with the missus.

Val, if your in south Warrington, get a train to Liverpool south parkway, then the northern line to Birkdale. Liverpool south parkway to Birkdale is one train, and takes about 30/35 minutes.

Saturdays are Rubbish!! All the Cool kids are there on Friday,
Just throw a sicky.

I might take the Missus Too if she Behaves.. Tartan Blanket, Picnic and possibly some Cloudy Lemonade.

If you were to carry on the shenanigans into the night in Liverpool, would gladly join you chaps.

Saturdays are for the lads who have 4 golf meets a year, and wear trousers.:)

Spam butties, yellow french fancies and strike cola, all wrapped up in a sunblest bag - retro picnic is where its at, lar.

Spam Butties!!

You see that's the Difference, the Friday Crowd will be all Skinny Jeans, big Groomed Beards ... Artisan Loafs with Continental Meats...We'll be getting fashionable rowdy on Craft ales whilst Heckling the self proclaimed Postman on the Practice Ground.

Well, maybe the Heckling..;)

Can you still get Sunblest Bread? I used to love that stuff!
