Hi all
Just done a tour in the Vilamoura area and finished it with the Old Course. If you've played it what do you think? This is one of the best courses I have ever played and is like the Mecca of golf in Portugal for me.

I thought it had 16 good holes and 2 poor ones, around the turn. That said, it's always on my list when I visit the area. Really enjoy Victoria too.

Good course and better than many but I liked San Lorenzo and Monte Rei. Try them if you get a chance.

Lovely course, though when we played it was very slow in front. Played the last hole in the dark.:(

Think we paid about 5,000 pesetas when we played, so it might have been a few years ago.

Great course. Someone put a poor review on my fav course website earlier saying it was in bad nick. So you could shed some light on that.

I think I would rate Quinta South above it of the ones i played though - but would happily play both everyday!

Super course, the first is my favourite starting hole of all the courses I have played, just let down a little by the last, (Off the Red tees)

Agree.....

The bank now owns the Old Course (and others) and is doing the bare minimum to keep the course playable. Disappointing I would say....greens on North and South at Quinta were awesome recently! Laranjal greens are off the scale though......

Have played it the last three years, by far my fave vilamoura course. Sad if it's not being maintained to the same standards as it has always been in great nick when we've played it.

off to Cascais this year so will have to find a new favourite, Oitavos Dunes maybe??

Used to play it regularly and always enjoyed it albeit it gets very, very busy. Went last year and found it very average condition wise - and now very expensive for what it is if not booked as part of a package.

Not a patch on any of the QDL courses, notably Laranjal, which has fabulous greens. And Monte Rei is just class, with a second course scheduled to start in 2017.

Victoria is by far and away my favourite of the courses around Vilamoura. I didn't like Faldo much, found it a bit too much like crazy golf on some holes however I wasn't playing well that day so maybe that taints my view!

I have only played it the once but it was the course where I first got back to back birdies on. The condition when I played it was very good and I liked how it was tree lined, makes you think about your shots.

Victoria is nice enough for a tournament course but in comparison to most around the area it's poor.

Always play this when on Algarve tours

There are better courses, but not many as enjoyable.

This is like an old friend you just have to visit when in the region

Sad news if the course is not being looked after, is the Oceanico group struggling, as that would affect a few courses in the Vilamoura area?
